I used to catch and sell crawfish (crayfish) here in Louisiana. The largest ones I`ve ever seen would require seven of them to add up to one pound. I was surprised to discover they were found all over the world. I was told the ones in Australia could snap a wooden broom handle. FUN FACT: The number one cause of death among commercial fisherman in Louisiana is (or once was) something called "crawfish poisoning." It`s an infection caused by being pinched by crawfish. I always carried bleach and betadine in the boat with me when I ran crawfish nets and traps to clean my wounds.
