I've been fly fishing nearly my entire life and I'm now 54. We all accumulate humbling moments on the water as time goes on. My most humbling moment of all occurred on my honeymoon in 1999 watching my new bride land a monster cuda after taking her first casting lesson on the beach about an hour earlier. Since that day nearly 25 years ago, I've been on many trips all over the place without her. Her first question for me when I return is always "Did ya catch any barracuda?". The aswer is still no. I've got to get his done at some point.
@@AardvarkMcLeodFlyFishing Thanks Peter. And as a sign of those times and that occasion, we sent it to a taxidermist…unfortunately. Sadly, fiberglass replicas were not an option just yet. Anyhow, It still hangs on the wall over the fireplace.
Great video as always! Barracudas sure are underrated, Been targeting them alot on the belizean flats, always alot of fun and like you said yourself you save a bonefish being cut in half by catching the cuda first 😂 Cheers mate!

Great video... I’ve been binge watching everything on the channel today! Quick question: can you give more detail on the quick loop to adapt a bone rig into a cuda rig? Are you tying this wire straight to the bonefish/permit fly’s hook?

In Mexico they are called Ixcochin. Extremely dark blue, almost black. Once hooked they head for the coral. When they get in a crevice and the tigger is planted impossible to get them out.
Generally like your videos but your intro theme music is way too loud. I always have to remember to turn volume down before playing any of your vids. Keep 'em coming though. cheers
