We do the same here in the Buffalo area. Early season I am off 18 Mile Creek (Derby NY) during the spawn, as they run deeper, I will be off the Cattaraugus Creek (Irving NY) 60ft depth and deeper.

Great video. Shorten up your night crawler and you won't get as many drum. Just use a small piece nightcrawler.

We've been up there and had the opposite problem. If the nightcrawler was bit off or small it would only catch drum. We ran all worm harness with a full worm and never got a drum. Maybe I was lucky haha.

Out of walnut I head east, I was there a few weeks ago and they were in 55 feet of water

Handling fish like that is scary. I took a friend to the Westfield hospital last week, right down the road from where you are, when a walleye shook and set the a treble hook deep in his hand. Once you get hooked, you will never handle fish the way that you are today..
