Smokin em guys.... nice crackers......they pull hard for their size......just saw where someone caught a 6 pound 4 oz shellcracker in Lake Havasu....must have been a TANK
There like the bluegill, they spawn more than once. Up here in Michigan, they will spawn from late may through august, they move to deeper beds later in summer
Back home in Wv you can dig green worms on the river banks in certain places in shady muck ground where you find the stanky muck! These worms also stink to the high heavens and people protect their digging spots
Hey brother I crappie fish on Murray but would love to find shell cracker. Would love to go with you at some point. If that’s a possibility let me know.
I noticed that you said you release the “hens” but you should also release the big males . The big males do the best job of protecting the eggs. There not run off the nest by bass ect. Plus medium sized fish have better flavor.
Hey I've been looking for a place to catch some shell crackers in South Carolina. I live in Arkansas but I have a daughter who lives in Greenville SC. Please let me know if I could come down and get on some redear. Thanks Slab Slayer Smitty 🐟
I've never used jigs for them thanks for the tip ill try it out, Makes since though, catching them isn't the problem lol the swallowing of the darn hook on the other hand.
Any particular depth they like? Been bass fishing my whole life but this is foreign 😂. You got a sub from me for your statement “fish don’t have a calendar”. I say the exact same thing!
