Can you give us a bit more detail on that wire straightener? Does it work only on solid wire or will it work on the 7 strand stuff. We go through a ton of it because of kinks and bends and this might be a real godsend.
I keep.seeing yall use kikoman soy sas. Yall need to get some pearl river bridge or healthy boy soy sas. Makes all the difference. Kikoman is just brown salty water.
nope. You just can't use treble hooks to specifically target: black drum, flounder, permit, pompano, African pompano, red drum (redfish), shark, sheepshead, snook, spotted seatrout, tarpon, tripletail
Have a question. I will be camping in Florida for 5 days. I have 1 yeti style cooler and 2 cheaper coolers. Which cooler should I use to keep the fish and which should I use to keep the beer and food? Also what do you do if your out fishing and you don't want to leave but you gotta go #2? Serious questions and also awesome video
shit off the side of the boat lol. If you make a mess go for a swim. Doesn't matter which cooler you use for what, they all the same as long as you keep ice in em.
@@WilliamHowardAlloway that's kind of what I was leaning towards. But I have a nice ozark trail cooler that was given to me as a gift. I wouldn't actually buy a yeti brand.
@@bigchad8929 definitely use most insulated cooler for your food/drink. Fish should be filleted day of catching them. Or at least gutted if left for a day or more. Also make sure they aren't sitting in a pool of water in the cooler, it seems to spoil them quicker. Also block ice or freezing jugs isn't a bad idea. Have fun and be safe!!
What’s the intro song. Love the beat. Also I fish out of the are between Tavernier and snake creek. I’ve tried catching bait in the area around cowpens pass. Any pointers as to where to catch pilchards in that area. Thanks.
Question: Are you satisfied having bought an offshore boat versus a bay boat? I'm planning on moving to Florida later and want your opinion. Thanks in advance!
my 2 cents, go with offshore, you can get away with a Carolina skiff 19' or larger and go offshore but it's gotta be dead flat to do so. tight lines man
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel That would be shallow enough for me. I know I'll want to get out there and do the same fishing you're doing also. Thank you for that!
You can always buy a little skiff with a 9.9hp engine for that shallow style flats fishing. I'm actually thinking about getting one. But I'll just put the paddleboard on my boat. Anchor in 2ft and then paddleboard into the shallows.
Hey Heiko, did you clean the knife that you used to cut your sashimi with you could possibly get deathly ill from a dirty knife, "just a thought" have fun catchem up
Heiko, My wife and I are gonna spend a week in Orlando this week. She said she wanted to hire me a fishing charter for one of the days we are there. Are there any you would recommend? Any names or websites I should check out? Thanks!
Hmmm out of Orlando? That would be some river/freshwater fishing. Not sure about up there. You can cast a worm into just about any pond in Orlando and catch a nice bass =)
South Florida Fishing Channel Sorry, I should've been more specific... were looking for charters out of the Cocoa Beach area... I bass fish all the time... but we dont have a lot of florida strain bass here in Arizona, Id like to fosh for some of those. I trying to catch some red fish and snook! lol. anyways... thanks for taking the time to respond... I love watching your vids...
@@getoutandfishusa3554 Really do your research. Lots of Guides that don't have much experience. They know how to fish one spot one way. And if that doesn't work they're at a loss. Offshore isn't too hot right now as the waters to cold. No mahi to be heard of. I went a couple weeks back 30 miles out of ponce and we caught one Sailfish in 7hrs of trolling. You might have more fun fishing bridges and jetties in the area. Sucks when you shell out 300+ dollars for a day of fishing and don't do well. Makes you wish you just bought more tackle or a new rod/reel. Best of luck to you.
I'm sure somewhere in these 120 comments somebody told you about fish descending devices, if so I apologize for the repeat of information-- if not then I am glad to present them to you! Being from Washington state, there are many rockfish/ bottomfish species that cannot be kept, and must be released, which can be a problem when reeling fish up from 100+ feet when their swim bladders expand. when puncturing the swim bladder you may see you fish swim away, but it won't survive long because they cant return fully to the bottom because the water pressure breaks through the hole at deep depths. on the west coast we use "fish descending devices" to safely return to the bottom where the pressure equalizes the swim bladder and they continue with their ordinary fishy lives! sorry for the long comment, but I think you'll enjoy safely returning fish when you get you device!
Noah Prophet: Noah, what does this device look like and how much does it cost? Does it still entail puncturing the bladder of the fish? Hit me back at FloridaFishingCouple@gmail I would like to to do some more research on this tool. Thanks, Capt. Dan
Hey Heiko. Have you ever thought about crossing over to the Bahamas from Miami? Ive been wanting to do that and thought it might be a great idea to get together with some of your subscribers that have boats and do a weekend trip for sffc. One it would be safer to cross wirh a few boats and to it would be damn fun with everyone with tge same hobbie. Just a thought. And ill be down in cudjoe first week in june if you want to get together and fish.
You may call that a "monster" snapper, well... check this one that I caught in Puerto Rico in 1998. I caught this from shore with 80lb mono handline and a small eel as bait. i.ibb.co/L5K1sFz/pargo2.jpg
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel I was so skinny back then (and crazy) so at the beginning of the fight I wrapped the line around my waist to use my whole body as "drag" walking up and down the beach because it was impossible to stop him with my hands. And I was fishing alone that night. But after like 35 minutes I finally got him tired. I wish there was smart phones back then cause the video of that night would've have a billion views today. lol
Tip for basil, wait to put it on until the fish is 90% done. Fresh basil is better than fully cooked. Just need to get the basil hot. Might even wait and just put it on right after you take it off the grill.
Best video ever!! 😀 Great day on the water! Biggest Mutton I ever caught (so far!) Thanks to Craig for inviting me along and for catching all that awesome bait; and thanks to you Heiko for the shoutout and for your friendship. -Dan
You guys make it difficult for us NYr's who aren't quite ready to head down to Vero, full-time. But we're looking forward to our early July trip!! Woohooo...
Georgeanne Panos: I used to be one of those New Yorkers! Grew up fishing on Long Island surfcasting for strippers and bluefish. You will get here someday, every New Yorker eventually has to move to Florida!! -D
@@FloridaFishingCouple Oh, you can still hear the accent. (currently Staten Island here) A NY'r knows the sound lol. Yes, we'll be there in July for 10 days....as far as full time....we'll see. Thanks for the reply.
Wow! looked like so much fun. You just made my day again. I love how you show everything. From first walking up to the boat to ripping gills to get your hook back to cleaning and cooking your catch. I felt as if I was with ya on that day. Thanks brother!
Great video, buddy. Nice to see you guys fishing together again. Too bad RU-vid doesn’t have some sort of virtual taste feature for these catch and cooks. That looked so delicious. 😫
The clicker let's everyone know I have a fish on =) Sometimes when i'm fighting a fish I focus on the fish and not turning the clicker off. I always turn it off when i'm just reeling a rig back up
It's always the same 7 people lol. They usually dislike before my fans can like! They are truly dedicated to my channel. I think deep down they love me. Thanks for the love, cheers!
I have never in my life had to replace a reels clicker, you sure it damages? Sometimes I just forget to turn it off, I didn't leave it clicking on purpose
You do realize the drag and clicker on a conventional reel. Are entirely separate and in no way interact with each other?? And who cares he can use a spinning reel upside down for all I care. Heiko lives the life we should all aspire to live ourselves. That being said it drives me crazy lol.
@@SouthFloridaFishingChannel umm im think if a 2019 Mako 284cc center console but I'm 14 and waiting for a spot at Publix to work so itll be a while lol
That's a beast of a boat! Why not start with a 22ft with a decent engine for 10-15k? Instead of blowing a ton of money on a payment plan that makes a 130k boat cost 160k
