I want to share a little bit of my knowledge of Lowrance Active Target with you. This information might be helpful if you already have the transducer and aren't quite sure how to use it or if you are in the market for forward facing sonar and want to understand it. There are many different baits and techniques where Active Target is useful, this is just one way that I have found it to be helpful for myself on the water.
Shakey Head Setup:
Rod: Phenix Feather 7'1" H
Reel: Shimano Stradic 2500
Line: Power Pro 10lb yellow
Lure: Gambler 3/16oz Giggy Head with a redbug Sweebo worm
Here is a link that will give you more information on Active Target and how it is useful:

hey Jacob, always look forward to your vids dude! funny, I have the exact same reel and yellow line for my SH setup. I was just thinking, with live target, you could actually fish a dark Shakey head at night. I have not tried that yet because I’m usually dragging a big worm, tapwater and other baits. Good stuff!

Thanks Mike! That's awesome it is a great reel. That sounds like a great idea about night fishing with the active target 😎👍

Mate, you have got your screen ratios messed up which is why the fish are showing up as lines and difficult to see, let alone tell what they are. Set your distance with the proper ratio to the depth and the fish will look like fish, so much so that you can usually tell what they are as you can see the body shape and fins. In shallow water that does mean you won’t be looking 80ft out but then that is what scout mode is for 👍🎣

Thanks for the info Jacob. Can you do a video where you explain how to tell the type of bottom you're over? Thanks again, keep it up
@jacobwallfishing
@jacobwallfishing 2 года назад
Absolutely, it is more difficult to tell on active target but it is possible to tell, I can explain it much better on side scan is that something you would be interested in?

jacob my screen has alot of noise on it which makes the fish harder to see. any suggestions?

Try turning the sonar off on your other units, you should be able to press a button that says stop sonar. Another issue could be the wiring. I would highly recommend getting a Sea Clear Power Harness.

Why do so many people use the term spot lock which a Ghost trolling motor? Spot lock is a Minn Kota term. Anchor is the correct term for the Ghost and motorguide.
