Great info, Pat. I hope to get into some of this in the upcoming weekend with the tide cycles. I never exclusively target flounder, but maybe Saturday .
I hope the bigger flatties start biting around the Chesapeake before they go offshore. I've caught 1 keeper in 2 months and I fish most days for a while. There have been lots of little ones but not many keepers being caught.
I would like it if you came down here to Sebastian Inlet during flounder season (november-January) and caught some (if any) decent flounder here. Most are only 12-14 inches. They have been missing the last 2 years...wtf? Long time resident since 1979
I usually cast to the edge of the grass and retrieve with the jerk jerk pause method. I use a 4"white jerk shad with hoss helix hook. I get many hits but only get a low percentage of hook sets. Should I use a different lure or method. Getting tired of losing fish at the boat.
If you like feeding the tail biters Gulp is the perfect way to spend a lot of money doing it. I live by the Chesapeake Bay and I am tired of them trashing my Gulp tails so I use Z Man or Salt Strong stuff with Dr Juice or ProCure.
