In this video our host take us torching at night looking for bait. Mostly looking for opae and opae lolo. Which are similar to ghost shrimp. They make great bait for a variety of fish. We have caught moi, papio, weke, lai, and basically every other type of reef fish with opae's. Sometimes when looking for opae's you might find plenty, then the next time not too much, but if you go another time you'll find plenty again. Finding them at night how we done will vary a lot depending on the tide and moon phase. Keep track of the moon phase and tide when you catch plenty. Those are the times when you want to look for them. You also need to go when the wind is low and not blowing too hard. Opae's are one of the best baits, but tend not to stay on the hooks too long.
