One of the most effective lures I use and catch limits with. Today they paid off again with almost a double limit of redfish.

Woukd love to know where y’all were at. I live in Keller, Texas, 14 miles north of Fort Worth. I get to go down there to Copano bay Rockport area ever 60-90 days sometime not that much. But I go home skunked sometimes but you locals are least 80% or locals won’t help a guy from out of town like I’m gonna clean the bay out lol. I bump into a good guy every now and then. I only keep what I’m gonna eat usually 2-3 fish rest catch and release. If y’all prob launched close to Clem’s being cleaned fish there, haven’t watched vid yet but fixing to. Thanks guys cool vid

They don't last as long. But all of them will rust eventually. I rinse them off and dry with a fan and they last quite a while like that.

I bought a wake bait for bass but never caught anything so I sat on it for over a year, I recently saw somebody retrieving it extremely fast to get it under the water 2 inches, I tried it the next day and landed 4 in an hour. If you have a really grassy pond it's the perfect weedless swimbait. Thanks for your content!

Thanks Ryan!! I started off throwing wakebaits with a double uni knot, the swivel works better, bc the lure spins when casting, and it hooks the line too often without a swivel. Thanks for watching man!!

What’s your opinion on using a swivel for the wake bait and top waters? I have a dedicated rod for both and hate retying all the time. Do you think the swivel will mess the presentation up and if not what swivel do you recommend??
@cleanfunfishing
@cleanfunfishing 3 года назад
It works well with the wake baits. Not good on a top water. The swivel effects the action of a top water a little. Any swivel will work. The one I use is a little bigger than I like But works great on wake baits . thanks for watching man!!

Love your videos man. I see in your affiliated links you have power pro braid and you probably know this but for bay fishing an 8 strand braid like power pro slick 8 is WAY better than regular power pro. It’s easier to cast and doesn’t sound like a dying cat when you are reeling in a fish as it rubs your rod guides and is just more supple. Original power pro is obsolete for bay fishing.
@cleanfunfishing
@cleanfunfishing 3 года назад
Thanks James. I think some of that noise is the daiwa drag is not as smooth as my lews custom inshore. But man it casts amazing. I've never thought about switching because it works well for me. The original power pro is very popular among bay fisherman. I wouldn't say obsolete, but I will definitely check it out. Thanks for watching man!!

@@cleanfunfishing I’m pretty sure you’ll love and see what I’m talking about. I’ve been using braid since it was new to the fishing world. I don’t see how people still use mono or fluorocarbon, when you hook a fish it feels like your line is a rubber band lol. I usually use 1.5 to 2 ft of flouro leader using a uni to uni knot to my braid. I think it helps with hookups since it allows a little stretch. I fish all the big redfish tourneys in Texas and most guys use that setup

What a sick morning bite! Curious on the wake baits...they are new for me. They say hey run 1-3’ deep. I see you working them pretty quickly in shallow water. Do you ever have to slow it down to keep it up out of the grass or in say under 1’ of water?
@cleanfunfishing
@cleanfunfishing 3 года назад
Thanks man! The wake baits only dive 12 inches. The shallow crank baits run 1-3'. (2 different lures). I adjust the rod tip height to control the depth also. High rod tip, runs just below the surface. low rod tip, runs 12". I still run it fast though. Hope this answers your question. Thanks for watching!!
