How to catch Redfish (Red Drum) - Redfish tips for inshore shallow water 

Great job. But just a suggestion. Don't reel when the fish is pulling drag. Every time you turn the crank against drag, you are twisting and weakening the drag. Please don't be angry, as I said just a suggestion. Im not saying I'm any better, just a suggestion. Fish on!

With 40 years of fishing both Salt and freshwaters I must say I love the vids you guys put out. The Potomac river is my home body of water I would love for you guys to get up this way one day in the future.

My cousins and I have watched you videos for a while now and we’ve been getting out there trying to catch different species other than croaker and spot. So far we’ve Hooked up on flounder but target species is Red Fish. Didn’t know they were out there in that area. Always fished right at the channel of the boat launch. Thanks for the vids!

To address everyone's drag comments, if your drag is set loose enough then there isn't enough reeling you can do to effect anything. There is a sweet spot with drag setting that allows you to do exactly what he was doing which makes the fight a lot of fun and a lot of back and forth between you and the fish where it is pulling line but you're also reeling line. That's also why your drag adjustment is right next to your reel handle so you can adjust it on the fly dependant upon the size and the fight of your fish. Drag is a brake and how hard you have that brake set determines how much line the fish can take once it's on. Reeling while a fish is pulling line off your rod doesn't mean you're an idiot, it can mean that in some cases, but in this case he had his drag set correctly to where the fish could pull some while he was able to reel it in some.

Are you using that suffix blue costal camo braid? How do you like or what lbs test do you recommend? Are you using a leader ?

Ive caught plenty of reds by surf fishing in st.augustine fl where i grew up. Whats the best rod setup in terms of weight, and line setup in calm water? Its a lil dif surf fishing. I usually go with a 4 ounce with shrimp

does anyone know if this is the ideal amount of leader line 2.5 ft for fish like speckled trout flounder red fish etc
