How to: Chair Caning & Restoration; How to weave a seat using, Flat Reed in the Herringbone Pattern. 

In this video, I'm demonstrating how to weave a ladder back chair seat in a herringbone pattern using 1/2" flat reed. If you have an antique chair or other furniture with deteriorating/broken flat reed, there is no need to throw it out. You can easily replace it & in the process, learn a forgotten trade that we are quickly losing the skills to complete.
