After removing the large silver ring, you dont need to use the screw drivers to prise the pump out. Thats what the big plastic tag on the front is for. You pullt out the whole assembly using the Tag. You are NOT suposed to move the white tabs. Hope this helps someone. The $75 dollar tool is to remove and refit the silver ring that holds the seal into the tank.
Don’t you bench test the old fuel pump.? If it worked was it dragging any amps? Should’ve changed the FPC as well, you’ve got the older version still, the newer ones are black anodised...
