Thanks I love your tutorials I can't believe I actually did it myself. The only thing I'd say to anyone trying this for a first time is to be prepared for the old bearing NOT to come out as easy as in this tutorial !! Mine would not budge after taking the bolts out so in the end had to buy a puller to release it!! I know now if I had to do it again I could probably do it in half the time it originally took me
some folks are real ball breakers. This vids are some of the best "FREE" guidance. If you dont have the right tools. Or need to be told which size socket. then you prob shouldnt be attemtping this job. A good pair of balls always comes handy i find.
Great video. No ‘personality projection’ yapping on, no trying to make it all amusing by zany behaviour and presentation, crystal clear quality video. Excellent
Annoying music but good tutorial, only thing i would suggest is the size of the sockets etc should be more clear whether it's in mm or a torx bit, other than that it was very helpful
Thank you for the feedback! We hope that our tutorial was helpful for you. . The music can be turned off in the area below the video for your comfort. Stay tuned and follow our latest updates. Best regards, Autodoc.
Have Saab 9.3 Aero which is same I think ? Replacing back plates so might as well do hubs as whole lot has to come out to do back plates - looks reasonably straight forward - letting Saab specialist do it !
Interesting that the ball joint was not disconnected. In the astra G video the ball joint was disconnected.Anyone know if astra G can be done without disconnecting the ball joint ?
Thank you for your feedback! Our mechanic operates according to the technical regulations, even if there is such a possibility, for convenience of work the ball joint is being disconnected. Best Regards, Autodoc.
If only the wheel bearing wouldn't been rusted solid at the back. Just one bang and it's loose? I've been banging on my Saab for hours, beter luck tomorrow I hope.
We cannot show all the nuances and problems when replacing them, this is all individual and it is not always possible to solve them at home. To avoid this, we always recommend that replacements be made at specialized services.
Good video but not quite realistic. In real life you need powerfull 3/4" impact wrench to remove the big nut or 32mm 3/4" socket and long breaker bar. Axle might be very tight fit to the flange shaft.. if sledgehammer is not enough you need to use enerpack or similar tool cylinder. Removing of the bearing unit needs often to be done with pull hammer. Removing of alumium corrosion from the hole where bearing cartridge is fitted is mandatory or the abs sensor ring will be destroyed. Just did one yeasterday and one today. I would say that if you cannot open the big nut when the tire is fitted and car on ground you can forget the whole job.
@@autodocuk Hi Whereabouts are you showing the torque figures? I don't see it on the video nor in the description, despite checking it at several crucial points for several seconds before and afterwards.
Our videos are for guidance only. All routine replacements and values can be found directly in the technical documentation for your car or use the help of a car maintenance service.
