Best video ever! I do all my house renovations at home, and I've been trying to figure out how to change all the hideous 70's light fixtures on my 17 ft ceilings since forever. I'm a tiny female and not strong, so this is something I can do myself. Thank you sir!

How? What about for beginners without any DIY experience who just wanted to find out how to access a stairwell globe? This video leaps into constructing wooden frames and stuff, it's clever and I'm sure it's DIY-boner material, but for those who struggle with DIY like I, it's far in excess of my abilities.

@@DanielVerberne I realized that I wrote that comment a while back and your point is valid. I don’t even really agree with the comment I made in fact. I think the guy’s effective in an intermediate standpoint. The Honest Carpenter is a good account for someone just starting out to understand tools and methodologies

This is the best solution to such a situation. In the past I've built a intricate scaffold which was quite OK, however it a) took ages to build b) minimized movement through the stairs, and c) it was a pain pulling it down. Thank you Jeff.

So I'm a master HVAC technician and a Journeyman Electrician, and I'm that guy that will lean over the rail to exchange those out every now and then, and so far, I've been lucky. But I know my times coming where luck runs out. I tried thinking of a handful of different ways to go about this but this right here, os worth the extra 15 minutes of work. Thank you sir!!

Excellent idea! Big brain!👍 An electrician I called, quote me for $1,100.00 to install my chandelier. I saw this video and your stairs has the same layout of ours, I went to Home Depot to purchase the materials to build. Cost me only less than a hundred dollars and it took me to build and install about 8 hours including break time. I just wanted to thank you for posting this video! 😁

My initial thoughts before seeing your video was find three studs and screw 2x6 horizontally into wall securely. Then run a few planks on top and screw ends into horizontal 2x6. Then have to patch screw holes and paint wall area afterwards. But all areas challenging to reach with this stair configuration.
