Mad respect to you Sal for getting vulnerable and sharing your struggle. Being well versed in addition myself, it's always great to hear someone fighting the good fight, and doing all the right things to improve their life. The ripple effect is also immeasurable. God bless you mate. And God bless everyone who is by your side supporting you on this journey. You got this!

Sal I feel like you’re the male version of myself 😂😭 I self medicated with weed in college for anxiety and I realized how freaking hard mentally it was. I’ve been in therapy since 2019 and the amount of self awareness I have now and how things from childhood trigger me, and bleed into my relationship with my fiancé is WILD. My fiancé and I started couples therapy bc I noticed as I was becoming more self aware I noticed he was doing what you do and able to shut down his emotions and feelings and it would manifest in our arguments. We love each other and are committed to being better versions of ourselves. Remember: being vulnerable is the STRONGEST shit you could EVER do. It’s very admirable and attractive when my fiancé is vulnerable because he’s trusting me and knows that I will be there no matter what ☺️

Hi beckahviolet- listen, I rarely comment but your comment struck me- in a good way. It's great to know there are good and dedicated women/people still out there. I was married twice and committed both times and didn't want either marriage to end but will probably never try again because people are always looking for the next exciting thing and true commitment is rare these days. I've learned that when people hit rough times in life- and we all do - the first thing they blame and want to change is their spouse but that's rarely the true issue. Both my spouses say they made a mistake and want to get back with me but I could never respect either for splitting up a family because they were "bored" at the moment. Anyway, I appreciate your commitment to your partner, which is a rare quality these days. I wish you both the best and with your self awareness, I have a feeling you'll both have many great years ahead! God bless!
@bekahviolet817
@bekahviolet817 7 месяцев назад
@@jasonsmith2301wow thank you so much for your lovely comment! I believe loving someone and being in a life long marriage/partnership is a choice, you choose that person everyday you wake up and work towards becoming better versions of yourself. Relationships that are worth while are hard work because you have to be willing to hold yourself accountable for your own faults and be able to kindly let your partner know where they have room for improvement. I believe you’ll find someone who will choose you and continue to choose you and your children everyday, don’t lose hope! 😊

I saw that Documentary on Netflix, but as soon as I saw Dr Greger in the preview i said fuck this nonsense. Also I think it's cool for Sal to open up publicly about his struggles. I was the same way for a long time and I struggled with a porn addiction, drinking problem, got severe panic attacks,marriage was suffering, and I almost ended things one night in the middle of a drunk panic attack. Keeping the burden to yourself is a lot and can wear you down, luckily I learned how to communicate better with my wife, quit consuming porn, cut way back on drinking, found the gym and started lifting. But most importantly like Sal talked about i found my faith again. My wife and I found an amazing church near us and attended every week, doing Bible studies and men's groups. The best part is my wife is now pregnant with our 3rd child and we couldn't be happier. God will take his time but he will deliver you where you need to be if you let him. God bless Sal I will keep you in my prayers.

I have battled with body dysmorphia and disordered eating since my teens. As a massage therapist working in a health club, having my own Pilates and massage studio, and practicing on my own…exercise and food can be amazing or torturous. I blew out my patellar tendon in October 2022. This last year has been rough. I’ve been gaining weight over the past few years. Not being able to run or workout like I used to is upsetting. The pain, muscle weakness, and sometimes limp from my knee is frustrating. I just purchased the MAPs over 40 bundle and Prime Pro. Thanks for all of your content and honesty. Let’s see how this goes! I’m so nervous about my body getting hurt again and training in a good way at this stage.

I’m praying for you, Sal. I’ve dealt with vaping (horrible for one’s health) and I had to replace that action with prayer and reading the Bible. ”Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.“ ‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4‬:‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬ ”that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.“ ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭22‬-‭24‬ ‭KJV‬‬ BUT ”And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.“ ‭‭2 Corinthians‬ ‭12‬:‭9‬ ‭KJV‬‬ I hope these helped encourage you!! I pray for strength during this time as well.

OMG!!! I am totally relating to Sal in his struggles. I am a very anxious person. I also have struggles with substances like supplements and Adderal (its ordered by a Dr), even coffee. When Sal said I always want to feel good, and then what Sal continued to say about not wanting to feel uncomfortable, I had an epiphany! That is exactly how I feel! I couldn't put my finger on it, but now, I'm like Woah

You can actually dry age with a simple fridge, just make sure you need a humidity sensor and a block of rock salt plus a fan. You also want a substantial cut of beef instead of a single steak because they loose moisture. So Costco rack of prime ribs are the best.

True that, the placebo effect is so strong that you can think yourself sick you can thank yourself paralyzed and you can even think yourself deceased. It's a wonder how you can continuously tell yourself something is wrong with you and your body will try to kill off whatever it is because it believes you, since our senses are what tell our brains what's going on in the outside world

Somewhere along the way, people started thinking that feeling a wide array of emotions was bad. While they shouldn't dictate your life, it's completely normal to feel stressed or unhappy at times. We don't need to escape the feelings but rather use them to motivate ourselves to being and doing better in life.

This episode was full of amazing things I needed to hear. It can be very helpful hearing about others stuggles and how they’ve gone about trying to fix them. I myself it 5 years sober today. I know you can do it Sal. Also, the whole conversation with the new mom. I’m 10 months postpartum and this child is 10 times more difficult than my first so trying to get myself back into working out more regularly and know that my “ health” at this point in my life is going to be completely different than what it was before this child. It was just yet again something I needed to hear so thanks Adam. Great show as usual.

So dry aging is essentially like the meat version of making cheese. For those of us on more of a budget Umai makes dry-age bags that you can place your slabs of meat into that you can then dry-age in your fridge. The slab you buy to dry-age make sure the butcher leaves the fat and such on it, you're going to lose 20-ish% of the whole that will need to be trimmed away, may as well have it be giant fat portions most people cut away anyways.

Sal- Maybe you should choose practicing yoga to train your Anterior Mid-Cingulate Cortex. If yoga makes you uncomfortable it will be more beneficial and rewarding to conquer that than to practice something you already know and are comfortable with. When you master it you could put out a new yoga training program for the rest of us that are intimidated by yoga ;)

I did marathons in my 30s and 40s and stopped because it was hard on the knees and because I wanted to put on more muscle. I was a little confused when Adam was talking about cardio with weights as if it was a bad thing. I read Marty Gallagher's Purposefully Primitive and started doing weighted cardio because it can get my heart rate up for cardio and was easy on the joints. The inventor of Heavy Hands had single digit body fat and his arms and shoulders looked great, so why would cardio with weights not be good for someone that wants to strengthen their heart a couple times a week total 2-3 hours? Justin was right about peeing sitting down especially at night so you don;t have to turn the lights on and disrupt your melatonin, so Sal, get over it.
