Great video. Very helpful. Just remember to use a bungie cord, zip tie, or safety wire to suspend the caliper while doing the job. Letting it hang by the hose can damage the hose. Otherwise excellent job.
Your video was the best that's all I wanted was changing pads nothing else. Good for you thanks If I need help with other things I will look for you first. Thanks again I like direct answers.
An ideal method for bracing the calipers when using a C-clamp is to take the worn brake pad and utilize that as your flat surface to push them both back . I look at it as the last service the pad can provide to my truck before I return it to the the store for a refund to my purchase. Great video!
Thanks for making the video! I have to change my mom's brakes tomorrow, and I was just checking if there was a special too. I heard the Ford Taurus sho had one, and I was glad to hear 13mm. I appreciate it.
You let the caliper just fall and dangle placing tremendous strain on the brake line. You have to tie it up or prop it up to avoid this. Also, clean and lube pins, etc.
If it's antilock, you need to open the bleed valve when you compress the caliper, or you could damage the ABS system. My 2002 Ranger XL has ABS. Other than that it's the same procedure, though bleeding might also be necessary with or without ABS.
