How to Change Motorcycle Oil Filter / American Lifan Lycan 250cc Cruiser

1.5 with changing. 1.47 without. Or in any case watch the site-glass. I can’t say u drain ur oil as same as mine but if u did this would b the measurement. And change the oil every 1864 miles or 3000 km. Not 3000 miles, u will break the engine a lot sooner with sludge building up when u wait that long, which is y u change it sooner to avoid sludge building up. Doesn’t matter if ur planning to use additive that cleans the sludge, if the engine runs with sludge u will start seeing the effect of dry oil when u drain it but the site glass will measure u have the right quantity.

Any time. The measurement is in quart. 1 Quart then .500 ml ... u get the idea... As for the sludge, I wouldn’t advise u to clean the sludge rather use less weight oil and let the engine run with it until the next oil change. My history of this bike for oil change is this: 20w50 - 15w50 - 10w40 -10w30 then after that it increases 10w40 - 15w50 - 20w50... then it decreases, then it increases. My tricks is I never Max the film strength of the engine when it’s too cold to start with an oil that’s too heavy and I never let the engine runs at its peak with an oil that’s too light or on par with the weather. It’s always capable to do more. That bike is now 13k miles, I have a new video coming soon with some changes I’ve made and how it runs...

What I meant with maxing the film strength is when the oil is cold. The first 3 minutes how the engine starts and warms up matters to me. While right now we get single digit like weather and temps no higher than 40, some would argue that synthetic 10w40 should b the best, while I disagree because when that oil is cold at 1 degree ur piston suffers. It only helps the engine when it’s in operating temps n at 60 degrees max. So 10w30 fits perfect for 40 max n -5 degrees no less than that. I wouldn’t expect anyone to run a motorcycle other than me at that temp lol, but if u do it would b what the engine needs, otherwise if ur riding habit is at 25 degrees and more then u can do 10w40 no higher than a 60 degree temp or 15w50 no higher than a 70 degrees temp. The higher temps u tend to get the less likely it would b cold in the morning n at temps of 70 degrees in the afternoon, the morning cold is always around 35ish or higher. N when ur getting 90 degrees burning hot temp, I would strongly advise changing it to 20w50.

I have searched high & low and cannot find a part number for the engine oil filter & unfortunately there was wind noise while you were filming & describing which replacement filter you used. Can you please type in your recommendation part number/brand/alternative bike for the filter? Thank you!
