I have this same mower model, just newer. Took the deck off in the backyard. I was surprised how heavy it is. I'm old and lost most of my strength. I had to place cardboard under the mower and slide the deck back. Put antisieze on the bolts. Next time, I'll do it in my garage on concrete floor. I might try to lower the deck on my old creeper and slide it in and out. Crazy how heavy it is. Great job on this video. It helped to prepare me for the task.
Very helpful, saved my butt big time! I didn't take off the deck but the side covers, the two holders and only needed to loosen up the pulley arm to slide under the new belt. Then tighten right up. Put the belt on everywhere and then using rope pull the spring back and latch on to the notch. Thanks buddy! Loved the vide6

GREAT VIDEO THAT HELPED ME! HOWEVER, I SKIPPED A FEW STEPS. YOU DONT HAVE TO REMOVE THE DECK OR THE PULLEY TO GET THE BELT ON THAT THE SPRING IS ON! OTHER THAN THAT IS WAS FAST N EASY!
That 15mm is a 9/16" . I haven't seen metric mixed with standard since my 1965 Volvo. But overall good video, and yeah you can do it without taking the deck off, but for video purposes it shows more off. Well done.
The flat part of the belt (outside) contacts the wide pulleys that have a flat surface and the v part (inside of the belt) fits inside of the smaller v shaped pulleys. Remove the old belt and one of the deck belt covers. Route the new belt on all the pulley's except the uncovered pulley. Put the v belt in the groove of the pulley as far around as it will go while turning the pulley by hand until it slips completely on. Less tools, less work and much faster than dropping the deck and reinstalling the spring. I do the same with the drive belt. Loop it around the engine and other pulleys except the left pump pulley where I insert the last part of the v-belt while turning the pump pulley by hand until it slips in place. No is a good time to remind everyone to torque down the engine mount bolts to 23 ft lbs every season.

My belt popped off when I started the blades, then quickly turned them off...I was able to put it back without removing the deck. Could you have done them same in your situation?
I Have same mower,its 140 hours now,did some tough jobs,recently it feels bit lack of power on blade,could that be the belt stretch(belt still looks good)need replacement?
i can not find a belt from gravely for that mower i got my belt from the dealership and it was not a gravely belt. i did find a belt on jacks small engines and it is cheaper than what i payed and the part number for that is - 07200523
Hannah Lods A belt can be too tight and cause it to slip on the pulleys. however as far as I can remember the belt is tensioned by spring. so you can’t manually tension it. it will tension itself, via the spring. I will have a look under the mower tomorrow morning I may be forgetting something but I believe it tensions itself
