Learn how to do a full tune up on your 955 Cayenne Turbo. In this episode we show you how to change your oil, air filters, clean your mass air flow sensors, and replace your spark plugs. Pepper is running like a scalded ape now!
VERY IMPORTANT! Pay attention owners. The Cayenne S and Turbo 955 with the 4.5L V8 has TWO oil drain plugs! Always a great idea to change out for new, the two oil drain plug washers AND the two oil drain plugs!
Excellent video; informative and I wish I had seen that before. Note one simple thing (should be anyway): How to remove the airfilter cover on turbo:s. There is a vacuum-line attached with a bayonet fitting - the green ring in the video. It took me almost half an hour to find out how it works.
after watchin this.....there is no doubt in my mind that the porsche dealer ships are crooks charging 1700 bucks for shit that only takes 2hrs to do. for everything u guys just did..... easy 1700 at the steeler ship
lift the fucking car to change oil dont fall to the dirty ground like mechanics did the old days, use at least a jack to change them this is embarrassing man when you have so many tools.
Di, if you were paying attention, you would have noted they said in the beginning they were intentionally doing this from the ground to simulate that most of us home mechanics do not have access to the same tools.
Everyone has a jack in their car and two 2ton stands cost less that 40$. Why would anyone want to get so dirty and have no space at all to work? Ok there are people who want to "feel" like real auto mechanics and doing it like that, i have no problem at all. But the whole purpose is to show something to the ppl the right way and not the opposite.
Doing it like that isn't the wrong way... It's just not the easiest way. Just like using jack stands isn't the easiest way either when you could use a $5,000 car lift instead. He got the oil changed and showed you how to do it, nothing about the oil change requires you to lift the car, so as far as an oil change goes, there's nothing else that needed to be done. As for comfort, if you wanna be a soft little bitch, sure, a little rolly dolly to lay on would be cute. But sometimes you just get under your car and do the work without crying about how dirty your back will get, even though these guys had a clean plastic floor to lay on so there was no dirt in the first place.
Well it's not wrong for someone without jacks but most people can affort a set. Plus getting dirty like this it doesn't make you "man" or great "mechanic", it makes you look like a pig if you like dirt and grease so much, but definitely not a "man". And of course makes you look like stupid when you have all those tool and not using them.
Ive never used drain plug seal when I change my oil.957 cayenne. No oil spills ever. No clue why people use those. You're talking about the thin copper washer right?
Thanks for explaining how to remove the vacuum fitting on the passenger side filter housing, almost every other tutorial I watched seems to omit that step and it is not that simple to remove it.!!!
hi, I have a 05 Cayenne S. I'm looking in to doing the plugs my self. do you guys have to support the engine from the bottom when removing the top support for the one sparkplug??
Hello i have Porsche Cayenne S 2003 year 4500 V8 but i want change the water pump i need to change serpentine belt idler pulley or only water pump please help me thank you
Good job on the video. I'm doing the famous "Cooling T" job on my Turbo S. Unfortunately I'm coming in after a TERRIBLY Unscrupulous tech, and am finding multiple missing fasteners. He even hid the fact that they were missing by putting back all the fasteners that you can SEE (Easier to get to also) rather than installing the ones he had in the hard to get to areas & then acquiring new and installing them in the easier to access areas. (Needless to say I was LIVID) Anyway- I just happened across your video & heard you mention that the head on the fasteners for the Torque Arm Mount are different. The lower 2 are missing on mine. Was the threaded area also smaller? (Seems silly I know but....) I now need to source a myriad of fasteners to reassemble my vehicle so I can take my trip. If I ever find that "Tech"!!
hi, I have a 15 Macan S. I'm looking in to doing the plugs my self. do you guys have to support the engine from the bottom when removing the top support for the one sparkplug?? On the macan there are 2 engine mounts and I am concerned that when I move the engine mount out the engine will drop. Did you guys use any support to keep the engine up?
I find it hilarious that these are so easy to work on and they charge 400+ for oil changes. I have worked on cars that are so difficult to work on mechanics won't even touch them.
Very helpful! Can you pass along any knowledge and/or diagrams on testing the starter circuit and starter? I've got a 2009 Cayenne S, but it all looked similarly enough to your to get a good idea.
Just been to collect my Cayenne today. First job is a oil change. Great video, is it wise to prime the filter canister and filter with some oil before installing it?
