Attention! This video contains mistakes: 3:38 - the tightening torque is 103 Nm, not 90 Nm. 3:42 - the tightening torque is 25 Nm, not 50 Nm. We're sorry for the inconvenience 🙇‍♂

This is an easy job, but I ran into a strange problem. When I was trying to reattach the shock at the top, the left bolt won't thread, I can feel it push through but it's hitting a rubber cover or something. Is there a metal plate on the top of the shock tower that it's supposed to screw into inside the car that may have moved out of place?

I thought you're not supposed to spray WD-40 on the screw when you replace the mount? Cos the nut may be loosen easily?

There are two Major faults with this video. First thread's should be dry when reinstalling otherwise the torque will be incorrect; this is a safety issue. Second copper grease will react with metals with a lower electron potential then itself; such as the alloy wheels in this video which are made from aluminium/magnesium thus causing corrosion.

There is a third major fault, when a torque wrench clicks, that is is, you should not click it 2 or 3 times more.

Hi.. Jst wondered.. The old shocker had visible rubber mounts at top (mine does) but the new shock you put in just had visible white piece.. I'm wondering what the difference is as I'm trying to source the correct shocker for my car.. Any info would be appreciated from anyone out there.. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

I have mk2 1.6 vct 2008 and I have a noise from the rear right shock: tak tak tak tak when the car is moving with 1st and 2nd gear! When the car speeds up the noise disappears! Also I changed before 2.000 miles the rear zamfor so it s sure that is not there the problem! So your oppinion: the problem maby is to rear right top mount? I tighted it from upside and the sound reduced! I m waiting from your answer and also it is dangerous if I leave it for a few miles?

Bolts are very tight, rounded. Stuck. same for the bolt of the oil tank and the bleed valve of the calipers. Not good quality.
