If you’re on PS5 and you notice that the monitor flashes black-almost as if turning off-when putting on a different game that’s bc your monitor is switching between refresh rates. Some games run at 120 automatically, such as mlb the show, while other games, such as helldivers, run at 60 and so does the ps5 Home Screen. This means you don’t have to mess with any of the settings-the monitor is doing its job
If it’s saying 60hz and your monitor is connected to your Xbox. Go to settings > General> TV & Display> Refresh Rate and set it to 120hz. You don’t need to connect it to a pc or laptop. You are able to do it through console
Sir. I have a question. My MSI optix G272 is 1080p at 144 frames qnd has a HDMI port of 1.4 but my graphics card has one 2.1. Would I'll still be able to get those 144frames?
Because mine won’t show anything higher than 60hz in windows, even though it’s a 165hz and worked fine today. The monitor itself is stuck on 4k and just scales down to 1440 when I select it on windows.
@@TheDannylawson I figured it out, only some games let u play 120hz but u go to saved data and game then game presets change performance mode/resolution to performance mode only, then u go screen/video in video output change Ur resolution to 1080p or whatever I haven't tried anything other than 1080p and then if u go down more u have enable 120hz output just put that on auto and load a game up should be 120hz
I have a Philips Momentum monitor which can go to 165 Hz at 1080p. My pc has a AMD 5900x, Rtx 3060 and connected to monitor using the DP cable supplied with monitor. Have set Windows display to 165hz and this shows in Nvidea control panel too. The thing is I can't see the difference from 60hz to 165 Hz. I played Shadow of Tomb Raider and CS 2 and toggled between 60hz to 165hz and just can't see the difference. Even in Windows moving folders and mouse cursor I still can't see the difference. I have the latest drivers for my GPU installed. Is there something else that needs to be set or am I doing anything wrong?
Hey my friend , wondering if you can help. I have a MSI G323CV , it’s locked at 60hz. I play on the Ps5 only and I hooked up my monitor to my PC to change to 75hz. I successfully changed it the correct way to 75hz where it showed in the monitor settings too. However when I plugged my monitor to my ps5 it defaulted back to 60hz??? I’ve also changed my ps5 default to performance mode. I’ve set refresh frame rate to fast and also put on adapt sync. So confused as to why it’s showing 60hz???? Also I have a HDMI 1.4 which supports 75hz up to 1440p (my display is 1080p) Please help haha
@@jordangriffanti3780 if it say tht then the games doesn’t go over 60 hz for console if you have a cod game like vanguard warzone cw they have a 120 option in settings try tht
@@kelimeq hey bro i just got it. Screen frequency depends on CPU and GPU they need to support 144hz, i had an old computer intel i5 4thgen and gtx 560ti. Else you will get only 60hz.
You could go under display settings/ advanced display settings/ display adapter properties/ monitor tab/ change screen refresh rate 165 hertz... This should show here.
He was changing desktop settings with the mouse. The monitor appears to be using input refresh and if you are on a console you should check system settings there too
well i just bought the new msi gaming monitor the - MSI Optix MEG381CQR and its a 175 hertz monitor and right now i can put the monitor only on 120 hertz max what alse can i do to change it to 175 hertz...
I am the same, have you fixed it, I think the problem is with the hdmi cable, when you buy a new version hdmi cable, it will be fine, try connecting it through the display port. My laptop does not have a display port. However, I haven't bought a new hdmi cable yet😂
bro can you help me what will be the settings for MSI OPTIX G27CQ4 monitor for warzone caldera? seems i found it reddish/orange environment and cant get it right.. im using RTX3060 btw
Hi friend. I THINK you might be describing the same issue I had... If so, I found that the monitor came 'stock' as: Gaming -> Game Mode -> Premium Color and was REALLY saturated red-heavy. Simply choosing another option made all the difference in the world. Not sure you'll have the same experience, but good luck!
Can anyone help with my MSI monitor which can support 120 hz. I am using hdmi to dp cable with usb powered to achieve 120 hz on my Ps5. I am unable to get 120 hz to display on my MSI monitor even after having above accessories. Anyone help
@@TheBatmanWhoDoesNotLaugh Yes, I found the solution. You need to update all necessary setting in Ps5 which include enabling 120 hz and enabling performance mode in Ps5 save data settings. Initially ps5 screen will show 60 hz , however when you access 120 fps supported game such as warzon and enable 120 hz in it game screen changes to 120 hz… Make sure your game supports 120hz . I have tested warzone, spiderman and horizon works like charm
@@hazarrd_caleb6260 There are few videos out there which describes setting needs to be changed in Ps5 to run compatible games at 120fps… FYI not all games can run at 120 fps
