I've had my Miele vacuum for 17 years. It still works like new.

Thank goodness for these "how to" vids. I had the filters in the wrong place & now tks to this vid have solved the problem of dust everywhere inside my vac. Thank u Vac Shak.

Thanks! Just what I needed, I have the C3-Cat and Dog vacuum. It comes with the carbon HEPA cartridge exhaust filter, and I couldn’t figure out if I needed to install the additional cotton exhaust filter that comes in the vacuum bag box. This is the first video that actually explained that it’s either the cotton exhaust filter OR the carbon HEPA cartridge exhaust filter, not both at the same time.

You helped me to do what the paper manual could not. I replaced the secondary filter and installed the HEPA filter purchased along with the Miele Topaz seven years ago. Yikes!. All this time I'd been replacing only the bags. I'm tossing my paper manuals and relying solely on the internet for appliance info. Thank you so much Mark and I'll look you up if I'm ever in Lewiston ME.

Great video. For some reason my hepa filter pops out when I remove the brush head and the machine loses power. Any ideas? Could it be caused by air getting on through the body and affecting the air pressure?

how do you know when to change the HEPA filter?

Do they not come with the replace cage/filter box for the white cloths now? Mines only ever had a hepa filter

Hi, are you still around for a question? If so, Can I simply change the air filter for my Miele S8340 or do I need to change the whole plastic unit, it seems a bit wasteful to do so and the filter is clearly easy to remove, the current filter has the numbers S240 250 290 on it, thanks if you can help!

How often if at all does the hepa filter need to be replaced? Or can you clean it and reuse it? Anyone know? I want to get a new Miele as my old one just broke yesterday. That one just uses pad filters.

I have a C1 Compact, how do I uninstall the standard filter/install the hepa filter? I think on the C1 it's screwed in? I don't want to yank anything.

This video was useful. However, one thing I cannot seem to get an answer on is regarding the black fabric piece that rests in front of the vaccum grille. When you open the canister, it's located right above the nozzle that allows you to adjust the suction. I need a replacement for this but I cannot find anything online. Is this part something important of you're already utilizing a HEPA filter?

What about the "sponge like" black filter that sits in door (just above the hepa filter)? I have to replace mine, but have no idea where to get it from. Mine had a lot of dust and other particles stuck to it

I don't really need the hepa filter in my S8 but I don't seem to see a cartridge to use the simple exhaust filters. Does it need a cartridge to hold them in place?
