In this video, I demonstrate how to change the harness buckle position on a Graco Extend2Fit. This is a method used for all carseats, not just Graco, that require the buckle to be pulled out then reinserted back into the shell. The only difference is that the Extend2Fit has a leg extension panel that must be pulled out first to expose the underside of the carseat.
Please consult your carseat owner's manual for information on which slot to use for your child. Some carseats require particular slots to be used based on the weight of the child or the direction they face in the vehicle.
Thank you so much for watching! Please like my video and subscribe to my channel. I am working hard on more videos, including more Graco installation videos.

Ok, thank you for demonstrating this! The crotch buckle was definitely too tight on by baby’s chubby thighs. I have a question. There are 3 buckle slots underneath. Slot one closest to baby was too tight, so I’m going to move to a different slot as you showed. Do I use the 2nd or middle slot, or the 3rd slot? What are the guidelines on how tight it should be? Thank you so much for this video. Baby still rear faces.

Double-check your owner's manual for which slot to use when rear-facing. Most carseat manuals will have the wording that the buckle should be in the slot closest to, but not under, your child. You definitely don't want to see a gap between your child and the buckle slot being used because they will slide down as they get comfy in the seat, which causes a slouching "C" shape and affects where their shoulders are in regards to harness height. In that case, it's better for them to sit on the strap until they get closer to that next slot out.

The strap is too short on my 2yr Olds legs. She still rear faces, so she's in the slot closest to her boby. How do I fix this

Hi. There are several reasons this may be happening. Lift the cover and make sure that the LATCH belt or seat belt (depending on which you're using to install the seat) isn't pressing down on the strap. Also make sure that you're using the same slot in the carseat shell as the cover as that will shorten it. If she's sitting on top of the strap, it may be time to move it to the outer slot position; you can use either slot position for rear-facing.
