This video shows how to easily change the buttons on a Vauxhall key fob
This Vauxhall key fob repair / Opel car key repair tutorial video shows you how to easily do a Vauxhall car key repair or fix Opel car key buttons and a refurbishment and change the case and rubber buttons on a Vauxhall car key / Opel car key repair.
With age and use these rubber car key buttons tend to perish and break up and eventually fall apart like mine did here.
It's a simple repair to fix and replace these car key buttons and refurbish your key fob, just buy a replacement case and follow the instructions in the video.
The video shows you how to open your Vauxhall key fob / fix Opel car key and replace the case and put it back together leaving your key fob looking refurbished and like new.
A quick and easy key fob repair and cheap!
The car key used in this video was for a Vauxhall Corsa key fob but I believe the following models also use the same Vauxhall 2 button key fob / Opel 2 button car key, depending on the year:
Vauxhall / Opel Corsa C
Vauxhall / Opel Agila
Vauxhall / Opel Tigra
Vauxhall / Opel Meriva
Vauxhall / Opel Combo

Hello I took my key fob apart and the transponder chip fell out I was wondering if you know how to fit it back in.

I didn't take mine out so I don't know. I assumed it was glued in so I didn't try pulling it out. If it doesn't clip in or a push fit then it must be glued, but be careful, maybe a tiny tiny dab of glue on the side, something not massively strong using a cocktail stick or something or maybe even double sided sticky tape or blue-tack. Something just enough to hold it in place but not cover it in glue as I don't know if it will have an effect on it.

Hi Lee, This is about the battery connection. The long arm one goes under the battery where the negative terminal of battery is right??. The square one is on the side. But the contact point for the square bit , is that on the top of the battery or the side . Also if you look at the circuit board the area where the long terminal touches , it says positive on the board. But actually that is the contact point for the long arm terminal that rests under the battery and it seems to be negative..forgive me if I am wrong . I am trying to get this corsa key working. Changed the battery and the micro switches, cleaned the board. But still not working......can you please help out. Thankyou

Hi, Yeah that's correct, the one that goes underneath the battery is the negative and the one that touches the side of the battery is the positive. You're right about the circuit board showing a positive next to where the negative terminal makes contact with the circuit board tho.. strange huh. Anyway if your fob is not working after working on it with the battery disconnected for a while then it may need re-synchronising to your car, I show how to do this in the battery change video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--hMsk07vuaw.html Hope it helps.

Nice one mate, and I'm glad the sync worked too. I was going to say until I read your update comment that if it keeps playing up to put a good battery in it. When I repaired my fob the kit came with a battery which I put in.. but it started playing up after a few months.. So I thought it must have been a cheap rubbish battery in the kit. I still had the old one so I put that in and it worked perfect, that old battery is still in the fob now. Just something to note if it plays up again and your kit came with a battery. Cheers mate. 👍
