One of my favorite things about guitars is taking them apart. I never got the chance to disassemble my brothers G&L with the Kahler. Maybe, instead of a new Kahler, i can find one that needs TLC so i can use this video and rebuild it. Thats the best of both worlds for me!
I’ll have an even more in-depth video taking a Kahler 100% apart in the future. This one is by special request if Gary Kahler for his website. There will be a bunch of these short ones in the future.
I really like these videos. Excellent info for someone doing their first Kahler install in another month or two. Also, appreciate the way you make your videos. No BS intro with overly loud music, no like/subscribe farming, just good info.
Thanks! There will be even more of them in the future. Lots more actually. As for intro music and like and subscribe I tried all that stuff in the beginning but I hated it. I figure that if you like it enough to subscribe you don’t need me to ask you. I would rather earn subscribers one at a time by providing value for the time you invest in watching the video rather than begging for someone to subscribe and getting “pity subscribers” that will just unsubscribe later. I’m glad you like that. Many people tell me I’m screwing up by not doing those things. But I can’t force myself to do something I don’t believe in so I promise you and everyone else if you see me say it I really mean it.
@@REXYLAB you’ve definitely earned a subscription from me; I like your style. I’m the same way with my business. Your page showed up on the Kahler IG account, with the hybrid vs professional video, and I was hooked. Had been wondering what that was all about, and your video succinctly described the topic.
@@BayAreaBrenner that’s awesome! Gary Kahler himself actually asked me to make that and other videos for him. We just came to an agreement where he flys me out to Kahler International every month for a podcast for 2024. And if you haven’t seen Kahler has released some new products. I have a few shorts on them and there will be long form videos on them soon.
@@BayAreaBrenner there are some interesting things for sure. Recently I added a few shorts of 2 different BC Rich guitars that are both one offs. One is a gift to Gary Kahler from Lita Ford and the other has a crazy tuning setup.
Thanks so much for this. I was lucky enough to find and purchase a Gibson Shred V with a Kahler and your videos helped a lot! Luckily I was able to find your channel before purchasing (didn't know much about all the fake $#1t out there) and ended up buying a unit and parts for backup directly from Kahler. Also really enjoyed your interview with Gary Kahler!
when installing new springs a couple of weeks ago, I dumbly didn't ease the tension so it was quite the battle to get the springs in place haha..wish I had this video then!
Although I love my 7-string Hybrid Kahler, I've always had one gripe with the trem bar. There's no clear indication how far can you screw it in and after a couple of years I've stripped some thread off of the bar. Unfortunately, I have no idea if the thread in the cam is still OK. Does anyone have any tips on it and how far can one screw the trem in not to damage it?
I’m very interested in getting one of these trems installed on my 8 string Dean ML. Does anyone know if getting the flat mount will work since the guitar is a string through? Or should I get the stud mount version and get studs installed too?
If it is a flat top ML (and I assume it is) then you want the flat mount. I just talked to Gary Kahler about getting a 8 string multi scale Dean Exile to show the versatility of the Kahler so you can expect to see one of those soon.
@@REXYLAB Nice! Thanks for the reply. Yeah its not an archtop, its the same shape as a 79 ML. The only thing that I was confused about is that it does have a TOM style bridge, and a slight neck angle. Im planning on getting the bridge around December.
