How to Change the Filter on the Samsung 4-Door Flex Refrigerator This is the refrigerator in the video: bestbuy.7tiv.net/4doorflex Buy the Samsung Water Filter here: lowes.sjv.io/samsungfilter #samsung #flexzone #appliance
Thanks, gizmo guy.. Getting rid of that red light was doing my head in, and I hadn't spotted the reset instruction. On mine it was under the Cubed Ice setting on the most recent 2021 version of this great fridge. Really appreciate your help and the vids.
I use Filters Fast to order mine, $25 as opposed $50. I have to use a pairr of vise grips to get the new one in there is so much pressure. You make it look so easy.😃
Thank you for the video. We installed soft water system under the sink. The installer removed the filter as it was no longer required. Somehow the reset filter light came on after a year. Your video showed me how to clear the warning. Excellent video Mr Gizmo.
@@alexpoch It's on the above video. On our first filter change we turned off the water with the result the ice making is freezing every month and my husband has to use the hairdryer to defrost it. Samsung won't help us
Do the Samsung French Door with Flex drawer have an air filter? I just bought one and am trying to familiarize myself with all the maintenance points. Most similar fridges have it on the back wall toward the top, but for the life of me, I can't find it.
That's what I was going to ask. Instructions say to do that, but does that mean pulling the fridge out from the cubby it sits in? Because that's a pain.
Great Video for those who have the regular Flex... but I have the Flex with the Touch Screen and there is ZERO Info on how to reset the filter alert!!! anyone know how?
You probably already figured this out, but you do it thru the software. At the bottom right of the screen is a bell icon, which shows your notifications. Click into that, and go to your message that says to change the filter. It directs you to enter the new filter change date right there.
Ashamed at how many videos I watched just to figure out how to turn off the indicator light... and its right there under the crushed ice button (face palm) Thank you
I put a large terry cloth facecloth with soapy water into the dispenser in the door from the inside and clean dispenser and the black spring-loaded door to the outside, then I spray a sanitizer with bleach down there, then rinse well. I also use the same process to clean where the ice comes out in the outside door because sometimes someone will refill the ice in their drink and it will splash back up there. Even though the water is filtered, I get mineral deposits on the plastic tray where water and ice are dispensed so I spray a little CLR Bathrrom, let it sit for 5 minutes then clean off any mineral deposits.
You are supposed to turn off the water supply before you do this. If you don't, you have a full bore of water pressure behind the filter which when you remove it could start leaking. Of course, turning off the water supply is a big pain in the ass, because you are going to have to manhandle a fridge full of food out of its position to get behind it, turn off the water, change the filter, turn the water back on, and then push it all the way back in again, probably damaging your fridge, or your wall, or both. Samsung should have designed a water shut-off system accessbile at the front of the fridge. Terrible design.
Delayed response, but I didn't. It was just too hard to get to. It was a little hard to pull the old filter out, but other than that, it wasn't an issue. There was no water mess.
We bought ours but they ran out of Samsung and we had to get a different one and since we changed yesterday our refrigerator/freezer still not cold help?
Hi Helen. If you set the freezer to 0F everything will start to thaw. It needs to be set at well below freezing point to keep food well-preserved, so it's best to keep the freezer as cold as you can. I keep mine at -23C (I'm in Thailand) which is -9.4F. So -10F sounds like the correct setting and probably the default the fridge came set with. Hope that helps.
If you don't turn the water off at the back of the fridge it may be more difficult to remove the old filter and especially to push in and turn the new filter to the lock position. I don't have strong hands so I recommend wearing rubber gloves so you can't get a grip on the little filter handle. Push HARD because the filter has to resist the water pressure if you didn't turn water off and drain the system. You have to move fairly quickly or you WILL have some water to clean up under your crisper drawers.
