How to change the oil in a Kia Forte

Today I'm changing the oil and filter in a 2017 Kia Forte with the 2.0L 4 Cylinder engine. The oil change is pretty straight forward in this car. Access panels are in the skid plate. The oil filter is a traditional style located under the car. No special tools are required for this job - just a socket wrench for the drain plug and maybe a funnel for the oil to prevent a mess.
Watch the video for the size of the wrench, oil type, oil capacity, and oil filter type. I cross-reference the Napa filter that I am using with a few others to help you find the filter at other locations. This was a dealership car so I was just getting it ready to sell.

nice video and format. Really cool lift you have. Only, suggestions: Remove the oil cap and dipstick prior to draining oil (for better flow). Otherwise, solid oil change procedure.

Thanks for watching! Some cars really a strong vacuum if you don't pop the cap and/or dipstick. This one flowed pretty good though. Good tip!

@@3DayWeekendregarding the NAPA oil and filter: the oil is made by Valvoline, and the filter is made by Wix. I’d say you did pretty good! 😃👍🏼

How many liters did you add?

Roughly 4 liters. Fill it, run it for a few, shut it off, and check the oil level. Ensure sure you're in the safe zone on the dip stick, and you're good to go!

@@3DayWeekendif I’m not mistaken, the NAPA oil is made by Valvoline and their filter is made by WIX. So you should be good using these materials.
