Very helpful and professional, unlike some U tube fact folk, who are lacking diction and the professional approach. This Video was the best. And the most crucial thing for a 450l rider to get right. Thank you.
skip the manual torque setting on the drain plug or risk cracking the case.... 1/4 drive and stop tightening once the plug bottoms out, let the o-ring do it's job. Good video!
@@vanman724 go to Thumpertalk.com CRF450L section and have a read, good enough for me. MFGs mess up often in manuals, Honda isn't perfect. You can torque to manual spec if you want, but good luck down the road. Way too much torque for this plug.
@@nomdeguerre13 I'm not against your advice, and the possibility that it's true, I just want some objective proof..I think I'll hit-up Honda directly and see what they have to say. Stand by.
These bikes share the engine oil and transmission oil so there is not a separate place for gear/transmission oil. This bike requires 1150 mL (1.22 quarts/1/15 liters) after draining and filter change.
As long as it meets the other requirements outlined in the service manual, 10w-40 will work great. Honda recommends 10w-30 but states 10w-40 can be used when the average riding temperature is above 60 degrees.
They're 8mm. What genius engineer at Honda thought that putting foam padding here was a good idea? Once it gets wet it stays wet and everything around it rusts, including the 8mm lower bolt I just stripped! 🤬
that's because the 250l is really a road bike that kinda looks like a dirt bike and has a cbr 250 engine in it. the 450l is a real dirt bike that is street legal. the only thing they have in common is two numbers and one letter.
@@motomac8392 And the 450l is a dirt bike trying to be a road bike and doing a poor job of it. The 450l would be the ultimate dual sport / adventure bike if Honda could extend the oil change and valve check interval similar to the 250l.
@@dx398 that's funny I run my 450l as a supermoto 99% on road and don't have any problems oil change takes about 10 minutes. Valve check maybe an hour. 450l is what ever you want to do with it. Adventure, dual sport, mx, supermoto. Not trying to say anything bad about the 250l but your comparing apples to oranges here. Power and performance always come at a cost or compromise.
