We are sheltering in place because of the pandemic and my washer stopped draining properly. After a few tears on my part, I found this video and tackled the job. THANK you. It took me a few hours, but my machine WORKS. Amazing. Thank you so much. You helped more than you know. (In my case, the pump was still working but the filter before it was FULL of gunk. It was disgusting. I couldn’t have taken it apart and put it back together without this video)
Amazingly well done video. Perfect. Video and correlated narration are so well done. All steps covered very clearly. Probably the best “how to video” I have ever seen/used.
My washer was leaving a small puddle in the front. Thought it was the soap tray since it was disgustingly clogged, but nope. Then thought it was the door that was gunked up around the bottom, but nope. Watched your vid, took it apart. Turns out the rubber boot/hose between the tub and the pump had a small hole on the bottom. Must've worn through rubbing against the foam cushion. Part was $96 plus shipping. Again your video was instrumental in teaching me what to do even though it was a different repair. Much obliged my friend, its an excellent video.
A little post script on the leak. As a result of the rubber hose leak, the foam cushion was saturated, also clearly being worn down from the expanding-shaking hose, but as a result; after replacement and re-assembly, after the first wash cycle, there was a little water on the floor again. Initially I assumed one of the clamps wasn't properly clamped on. I waited a few days and ran a second wash cycle and watched carefully. No water anywhere. I believe the first cycle squeezed residual water out of the foam block during the spin cycle. So moral of the story is, don't jump off the bridge if you see a tiny bit of water on the first go after repair. Wait till the second one to be sure.
My washer is leaving a puddle fee hours after the Washing. Seems like we could have the same problem. I don't have any errors and all my pumps are working fine.
@@RajSingh-ls8kd For me, it was right after the load was done. I found out there are several possibilities. Pay close attention to the location and size of the puddle. Take the front off the washer and pay close attention. Lift and squeeze the hose. You should be able to get a better idea of the source
One of the best how to videos I have ever seen....thank you for taking the time out to make it....I followed step by step and it was super simple....again thank you
Thank you for the detailed video. They talk about cleaning your drain filter monthly. Do you know where to locate it for this model? Some video shows a door on the front but this model does not have this. I can’t imagine we have to disassemble the entire machine to do a monthly cleaning.
This is a great video and thank you for making it. I think I have a very similar washing machine. I am wondering if I can disassemble it to clean the washer drum. I have a child with excema and I am afraid he could be reacting to the residue I just learned is lurking behind the shiny silver drum. Do you think this is possible or should I buy a new washer. I am pretty handy and have fixed a few of my other appliances with the help of my RU-vid heroes. My washing machine is from 2014 but is going strong and has no other issues. Thank you!
Hey just curious for your opinion. I was wondering what you might think a set of this washer and corresponding dryer would sell for now in 2024. My mother moved into an apartment and doesn’t need them so I’ve been holding on to them and might sell the pair as I don’t need them myself. I’m not particularly looking to make good money or anything but would like to ask close to fair value. I understand that at this point it’s an older discontinued model. They’re in working condition and if I remember correctly they were a pretty good washers and dryers. Just curious what a fair asking price might be for the set?
Great Video, Question if I may ask.? Since new,I have cleaned this washer with a bit of bleach and the clean washer cycle regularly and leave it open but we still get a mildew smell. Have a new front boot and will replace, any other tips / hints on what else to clean /replace that would help/solve the mildew issue? Understand this washer has design flaws. Recently, I have started using 'affresh' every 2 weeks on the clean washer cycle. Thank you so much.
You could always trace the plumbing from the detergent bin and find the pump that way but without having the unit in front of me taken apart I could not tell you. Thanks for watching.
We have the exact same washer and the issue is that just sometimes, usually when there is just one or two items being washed, during the spin part of the cycle it continues to spin longer than it should and then the one or two items are still too wet. With a large load everything works fine. Any idea what might be causing this? Does it sound like a pump issue?
If it pumps out the water then I would say that it is not an issue with the pump. Not sure what it would be without taking a look. Thanks for watching.
I think my drain pump is blocked/broken... I am following your video but I cannot open the door, since it locked shut when machine stopped working. Any way I can force open the door?
You will need to access the diagnostic or test mode. should be like this: 1.Press the “CANCEL” button to enter standby mode and enable diagnostic mode. 2.Within 10 seconds after pressing “CANCEL”, press any button to wake up the control. 3.Within 5 seconds of wake up, turn the selector knob to the far left cycle and press and hold the “CANCEL” and the far left button under the display simultaneously for 3 seconds to enter the Diagnostic Mode. 4.Turn the program knob (5) clicks from the start position. The door lock solenoid will deactivate and the loading door can be opened. When the door is opened, the drum light should turn on. Hope this helps, Thanks for watching.
Hello, do you know if it's normal for the drain pump to run before every wash cycle? It's a little loud as well not sure if that's normal but atleast I know the location for future replacement. Thanks
I have a Electrolux model eifls60jiw1 whick looks just like that one but the pump model shows 137311900 and you showed model 137240800. What is the difference?
My washer won't drain after an error code while washing fluffy throw blankets that weighed a ton when soaked with water. I removed the blankets but now the washer won't drain no matter which cycle I select. How do I find out if it's the drain pump or the sump pump?
It is for this model but that is not to say that many of the things are similar and this video can be used as a guide for other models. Thanks for watching.
I REALLY don't want to have a repair person in my home during the pandemic. I have this same machine, but an older model, EIFLW55HMB0. After I washed one towel, the machine made a noise like it was unbalanced. It seemed to correct the issue and the cycle ran fine. About 10 minutes after the machine stopped, about 1/2 cup of water came out from the bottom. I ran another cycle. Everything was fine until either the spin cycle or it was totally finished. Then, there was about 2 cups of water on the floor coming from underneath the machine. I am thinking that the jarring from the unbalanced tiny wash may have caused a hose to come loose or the rubber boot/hose between the tub and pump has become damaged from rubbing. Funbro and others-Does anyone have any advice on what might be causing this issue? The washer is operating fine, except for the leak. I do not want to try to open up the washer until I am fairly certain what I am dealing with. Thanks
Did your washer give you an error code? If so, what was it or what did it point toward? Mine is leaking water under the right side bottom. I replaced the cold water solenoid on the water inlet valve thinking it was leaking there because it seemed the water was standing there and/or running down the back? Not sure, but, it seems as if the computer(brain) thinks it is full of water so it won't let any water come into it. But, I thought it could be just the opposite. I believe the drain hose at the bottom inside where the drain pump is could be clogged, therefore the machine would think it's still full of water so as to not allowing more water to come into the washer. Mine doesn't have an access panel or door, so I have to do the dreaded take the front off. It does power on and you can select the cycles. All the bells and whistles work, but it just won't perform. A couple friends maneuvered the drain hose somewhat and it worked again briefly. Then it quit again and it still leaked the same place when it worked. I think they managed to do a couple small loads. I am SO behind on laundry! Please help! Any ideas you can give, I will attempt to conquer!! Thanks in advance!
changed the pump for model # eifls55iiw0 and it worked perfectly for a day and then i am getting e21 code again. how do you clear the codes and reset? some say they have removed the rubber plug flap to get it to work correctly? thanks.
Sounds like you may still have a clog somewhere in the hoses. To do a factory reset unplug for 4 minutes, press and hold the start and cancel buttons at the same time, plug unit in , wait 10 seconds, then release both buttons. Hope this helps, Thanks for watching.
I have the same washer and my machine is making a buzzing noise when it tries to drain, is that the pump? I ordered pump part #137311900 from Amazon and they say it will work but I see you have a different part number listed. Do you know if the part I ordered will work? Thanks! C
E13 means water has leaked and is in the tray. It could be a bad hose, a pressure sensor, a switch, a problem with the mainboard, bad wires that short circuit the appliance, and even a crack in the tub. Thanks for watching.
Start at the plug and carefully check voltage till you find the stopping point. That will give you a good start on where to look for the problem. Hope this helps, Thanks for watching.
