I'm glad you used the cardstock method. That was the method I first saw on RU-vid. Most people do the thing where you separate the binding from the book block, place the ribbons and glue it back, but that just seems like it could go wrong so easily...and we're already paying $100-$200 for these nice Bibles. Why risk ruining them? You never know if your "ribbon surgery" will cause the spine to come loose after 6 months. Don't risk it...use this method instead :)
Thank you for sharing sis, your amazing,my dad passed away today this morning, and it it now night time here were I'm from, and I just want to let u know that you're a God's gift to many of us that follow u,this is beautiful and I love each and every idea you do,from your TN,the inserts, your bee,all your beautiful bibles, and now these ribbon remakes love them, and love you, blessings in abundance❤🙏Denisse
Best tutorial for adding ribbons! I love that this isn’t a permanent alteration so that I can add more in the future or even change out the ribbons if I want different colors later. Thank you!
I love this way of adding ribbons because you can switch them out with the seasons or even in between different Bibles too. Without having to cause any damage to your Bible. It's amazing
Nice advice. Although I use slightly more glue (Elmers) never had a problem with it messing up pages, or anything, I normally let it sit closed overnight before using. I would love to buy another Allan because that has to be the best, although the Schuylers are wonderful too. Even in winter, opening a Bible like yours is like springtime! It lifts me up just looking at butterflies, flowers, and pretty stuff. 😉💙💜💗💐🌸🌹🌺
That was fun to watch. I especially appreciate the great tip about not actually touching the lighter flame to the ribbon. I’m sure some of my bibles will be getting a ribbon adjustment soon. 😊
I’ve purchased all my ribbon at Hobby Lobby, try and catch it on clearance. I usually do the second technique that you’d shown with my bibles. Great video.
Great video!!! Love that your videos are such “real” life. Lawn mower not distracting. Had you on speaker. Kitties eyes were big as saucers trying to figure out where the sound was coming from😂😂😂.
Great tutorial! Thank you. I love seeing you work outside in the sunshine - lawnmowers notwithstanding lol! I think the cardstock method will be best for me. I shall be trying it on my new Prayer Bible. I am going to add tassels and embellishments onto my markers. Using this method, you could make interchangeable sets of markers.
You make everything look so easy for sure! Thank you Cat! I like your suggestion of putting them on a card. I have some bibles with those skinny ribbons, and I do not like them at all. Now gotta find some nice ribbons. 💚🌟👍🧡💙
All your videos are enlightening and interesting. I wanted to ask you if you would consider doing a video that specifically addresses each part of the Bible that you comment on. For example, the hubs, the paper quality, the type of sewing or gluing in of the book to the spine, reinforced areas etc. It would be like a bible anatomy class! 😆 Perhaps you’ve already done a video like this, but if not, it would be really handy to have all the information in one place. It could include comparing and contrasting so we can learn the differences. ☺️
I really appreciate this video as your right some ribbons are nasty and most bibles never have enough I think me and my friends will have to try this your bibles are soo beautiful x
I love the tcr i have a 1930s one last night i added two black ribbons to the head band that was coming up anyway. So i pulled it back a bit more and glued them in . Im going to art guild it too all thanks to this channel ❤
This is amazing thank you so much for watching and supporting my channel I greatly appreciate it. I'm so glad to hear you listen and and my tips worked out for you too
I will try doing this, but I have my doubts it will look like yours. I had a stroke years ago and my right had no longer works. Not only that, but my left hand was injured a very long time back and it never fully healed. It will be like trying to drive a big rig through the eye of a needle! lol. Fortunately, I have some REALLY cheap Bibles to try it out with before tearing up one of my better ones. Wish me luck!
Thanks for the video. I just found a esv compact with buffalo leather but so short of a ribbon. Will replace with better ones. Couldn't turn down a bible that they only wanted 9$ for. Unbelievable. Thanks again
Great video but I'd never cut up my good bible, I always just add ribbons with plastic canvas, then you can change them out if you want and you can put as many as it will allow according to the width of the spine. Just use yarn needles or just use a slanted cut edge on the ribbon💙
Same here. I only cut up those weird cheap ribbons. With my premium Bibles which all have amazing ribbons already in them I only add more ribbons to them
Do you use the ribbons to mark certain things in your Bible like where your at reading through the Bible, certain books or chapters your studying, sermon studies, etc?
I wasn't able to share a picture here so there's no info. But if you scroll through the comments section here I've answered where several times already 🙃
