Yet again, a tutorial video which shows WP functions that differ from my own. My typology tab does not display the same way. Moreover, even when I focus on one block of text and highlight it, any change in font size affects all the text on the landing page. WP is overrated and certainly not as user-friendly as it purports to be. Prove me wrong.

Sorry about that. This video is somewhat outdated. There have obviously been some updates to WordPress since this video and I understand your frustration. I'll work on an updated video in the near future and walk you through the process. Please don't give up on WordPress. It's by far one of my favorite and easy to use content management systems. :)

Hi, this is such a great video! I tried changing the font size using the code but it didn't work for me. Any ideas why? Would be grateful for your response!

Bro thank you, I hope whatever god or gods who created this world grant you eternal bliss in heaven. For hours upon hours, I've been trying to find solutions on how to resize. A lot of outdated information, some say to change HTML, and some through plugins. But no one said what you said. You just saved me from my frustration and hours of wasted time. Eternally grateful.

That is called "Dancing Script". :)

Hey! Thanks for watching! Typically, title font uses the h1 tag, so you can use the following CSS to change the size of the titles using h1. h1 { font-size: 68px; } Let me know if that answers your question. Thanks again for watching!

@@viessemondo4241Unfortunately there isn’t a way to do that with the typography. I recommend opening the paragraph block that contains the text you want to change and then edit the block as HTML. Let me know if you have any other questions. :)

Sorry for the delay. I don't think there is a way to do that within the typography settings in WordPress at the moment. :/ I'll have to do some research and see if that's possible, but I don't think it is.

I just updated from 5.5 to 6.1. My question is how do you change the 'defaut' size in the new wordpress editor? When I go into all my old posts they are like a 6 font size. Very very small. It is not controlled by my Herald theme as my default there is set to 16 which is what I want.

Hi Kevin! Thanks for watching! It sounds like this is a theme issue. However, I wouldn't know without seeing it. Can you please reach out at info@blogwithben.com? I'd be happy to take a closer look for you. Thanks!

@blogwithben
@blogwithben Год назад
Hey, Lance! Thanks for watching! Great question. Changing the title font or the h1 will need to be done through CSS. Try adding this CSS to your Additional CSS widget in your Customization menu within WordPress: h1 { font-family: Brush Script MT, Brush Script Std, cursive; } Then replace the font family with something from this list: www.w3.org/Style/Examples/007/fonts.en.html Let me know that works for you and thanks again for watching!

This is helpful. My other bigger problem is that the working/editing pane within Word Press is only a couple inches deep, which makes editing a problem since the view of the post is so limited and I can't compare one paragraph to the other without scrolling. I have to manually expand the editor window every time I open it. Sometimes I go too far and it snaps back to no window at all. Is there a way to make editor window larger by default, as it would be if I were working in a Word document?

what if you want to only change the font size in all your blogs and not the whole site?
@blogwithben
@blogwithben Год назад
Hey Carlos! Thanks for watching! From my understanding, if you want to change the font size on specific blog post, you'd have to do that within each blog post. I'm not aware of a way to change the font on all posts via CSS or anything like that. As of now, you'd have to manually change them in post or as you're writing them. Great question and I'll do some digging to see if I can find a way to accomplish what you're asking.

Please make a WP 5.9 series... tons of people are having problems navigating the new control set, modifying settings and running the query loop to display select content in specific areas on their websites. Most of us are transitioning to the newest version and need help starting from a clean install and maybe a demo to create single post and have a full set to work with. Can you help us? Your channel is smart and helpful... and I'd imagine I'm not the only one dealing with this frustrating update. Most of your older top-rated videos will be impossible to use now with these new controls. Here's your chance to get ahead of the curve and showcase your WP 5.9 how-to talents because you've already mastered WP and only need to update your old videos. No one else is making these problem-solving how-to videos showing the initial install through the page, menus, blog or query set up. So far it has been a confusing experience that could be solved with one good video from an expert like you. WP dropped the ball on this one as far as user videos go. Thanks for listening.

@@blogwithben Thanks for the quick reply. This is the best one that I've found. His channel has a couple of related videos. I am trying to stick with the G'berg theme for speed. One problem is thet he doesn't show how to make single post or how to build a page to display them. Compared to other videos, it is about all we have. It's is a helpful video, but aggravating in the sense that I have to blindly go back to built the basics using the new tool set. One video could solve these issues in one shot. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nqWA0k2OrbA.html If you have any other links to share, please let me know. @@ZEIDAN-b6g Try this one... ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-nqWA0k2OrbA.html I'm running the standard G'berg theme, it is faster than what is used in the linked video. I have the blazingly fast GeneratePress Premium, but it is not FSE, so not installed now for this test. Hopefully I'll never need to revert back to it. Gutenberg seems to do the trick so far, though. It's the confusing toolset that is going to frustrate and upset everyone.

Great video, Ben! I followed your suggestion to change the font sitewide using css. I could see the changes on my homepage, but when I went to edit my unpublished blog posts in the block editor, the fonts had not changed there. Is there a way to get those fonts changed globally? Thanks!
@blogwithben
@blogwithben 2 года назад
Hey! Thanks so much for watching and using the tutorial. I really appreciate it! The fonts won't change within the backend of your WordPress editor. You'll need to preview your content before publishing if you want to see what the new font will look like. You bring up a good question though. I'm sure there is a way to change the font in your editor, but I think it would require some extensive dev work within your WordPress files. Either way, let me know if that helps or if you have any other questions. Thanks again for watching!
