Hi Sandra, Thanks for watching my video ♥️ I got my change of name publication in Nigeria right before I left. If you are resident outside of Nigeria, you will not require a change of name publication from Nigeria. A Statutory evidence of change of name will suffice. I have just gotten the list (requirement for change of name) below from the commission’s website. - Application Letter. - Certificate of Death of spouse from National Population Commission (NPC). - Evidence of Maiden Name. - In case of Re-marriage, Certificate of Marriage with Current Spouse. - Sworn Affidavit from a Magistrate or High Court of Change of Name deposed to by Applicant. - Copy of Newspaper Publication of Change of Name (21 days after publication). - Statutory evidence of change of name (if resident outside Nigeria in lieu of v and vi). - Passport Booklet and Copy of Data Page of passport. - Acknowledgement Slip & Evidence of Payment. Hi, An affidavit and a news paper publication should suffice. For the acknowledgment slip, go to the payment receipt page, at the bottom of the page you would find a link to receipt and acknowledgment slip.

Hi 👋 A Nigerian newspaper publication is fine but if you don’t have it, you should be okay. I doubt it’s a strict requirement especially here in the UK.

Hello, It arrived after some weeks. This is usually written on the slip you leave the commission with. If you haven’t received your passport after the date indicated, you can call the commission or send an email requesting an update. This was what I did in my case. I hope this helps ♥️

Hi, Thanks for watching my video ♥️ On the application you should fill only the name you want on your passport which will be your husband’s surname. If you fill your maiden name, the passport will come in your maiden name and you will have to go through another process of updating the data on your passport. I hope this helps 😊

Hi Chikamso, hopefully this shouldn’t be a problem because in your application there will be a field where you can add any previous names. Also ensure you include all the relevant documents (old passport, new passport marriage certificate etc), I have come to realize providing more information/documents always helps. Hi, At the time I changed mine, I didn’t pay for Change of name endorsement. All I need was the consent letter signed by my husband. Please check the website to be sure this hasn’t changed. I hope this helps.

Hi, All you need to do is change your names on your BRP and other relevant documents. It shouldn’t have a negative effect. There is always a field to include your precious names in applications. I hope this helps.

I doubt you need a change of circumstance form for change of name you can confirm this on the government site. The link to apply for change of name on your BRP would also be on the site. It’s easy and straightforward.

Hi, Thanks for watching my video ♥️ During your application, you would be given tracking details to track your application with the commission. You would also be required to buy a self addressed envelope to return your passport. You can buy the next day delivery, that way you get you passport the next day after it’s been dispatched by the commission. For completing the process within 24hrs at the commission, I’m not very sure about this. I know in the past you could pay £100 or more for fast track, I don’t know if that is still available. Please confirm this from the commission’s website. I hope this help 😊

For you it should be for replacement of name. Please also check the site before you visit the commission. Correction due to Error: Due to Correction of Error(s) Application Letter stating reason(s) for change. If more than one [1] alphabet, attach evidence of payment of non-refundable Administrative Charge of NGN 30,000.00 only. Previous documentary evidences to support request. Passport Booklet and Copy of Data Page. Sworn Affidavit from a Magistrate or High Court of correction of error, deposed to by Applicant. Acknowledgement Slip & Evidence of Payment of passport fees if application is approved. Others: - Replacement of names - Addition of names - Rearrangement of names - Deletion of names Application Letter stating reasons for the request and attached with evidence of payment of non-refundable Administrative Charge of NGN 30,000.00 only. Previous documentary evidences to support request. Sworn Affidavit from a Magistrate or High Court of Change of Name deposed to by Applicant with passport sized photograph attached. Copy of Newspaper Publication of Change of name 21 days after the publication. Passport Booklet and Copy of Data Page of passport.
