Before you can check the automatic transmission fluid level on your Subaru outback, first drive the car around until it is fully warmed up. Next, park on a level surface and shift the transmission slowly through all of the gears, and then put it in park. Leave the engine running. The engine has to be running for you to get an accurate transmission fluid level check on the 20@3 Subaru outback automatic transmission. The automatic transmission dipstick is located at the back of the engine, and the handle is yellow. Pull the dipstick out of the transmission, wipe it off, then put it back in all the way, and then pull it out and check the level. There are two sets of dots on the Automatic transmission dipstick for your Subaru Impreza. The two dots on the right side are for a fully warmed up engine, and the furthest to the right is the full level, and the dot on the left is the ad level.
