How to check lifter preload on Ford FE 352 non adjustable rocker. Thanks for watching. #classiccars #enginerebuild #ford #howto #enginerestore #how #fordgalaxie #galaxie #engine #fordperformance
It's a whole lot easier to torque the rack down then compress the rod side of the rocker and measure the clearance at the valve tip. Ideally you should be closer to the bottom of the plunger travel than the top. This will ensure you get full lift even with lifters that bleed down quickly. If you've decked the block or heads, done a valve job, the geometry will change and a new set of push rods may be required to get it right again. But then again what do I know, I'm just some old geezer that's been driving Ford FE's for 50 years.
Thanks for the tip! They are appreciated. Learning as I go. It's been fun so far. Got the engine running at least and it stayed together with no issues before I decided to sell the car.
