How to check/test magnet coil of any motorcycle with multimeter | magneto check (pulsar)

In this video you will learn how to check/test magnet coil of any motorcycle with the help of multimeter. Before check the magnet coil you should know the resistance ranges for the coils according to your motorcycle. I showed the testing process on a basic magnet coil of pulsar 150 ug2 old model but no matter what brand of motorcycle you have the process of testing will remain same.
In old models specially the AC CDI ones have a starter/exciter coil in the magnet coil assembly which is pretty big as compare to other coils and you will not going to see that particular coil in newer models , then there is a pickup coil aka pulsar coil aka crank position sensor which is quit common in every single motorcycle . There are two more coils known as light coil and charging coils .
You should also know the colors of wires of these coils because they can vary in different motorcycles. Set the multimeter to continuity first to check all coils to be connected to the negative of battery or not except the charging coil. put one probe of multimeter to coil wire and other probe to the body of motorcycle or negative wire and you should hear a beep or see reading in case of pickup coil . If any coil fails in this test consider to repair or completely change the magnet coil assembly.
The second test is resistance test and it will perform the same way as the continuity test but you need to set the multimeter on ohm reading and check the resistance reading one by one in all coils and see if they lies between the specific range of resistance or not . If any coil reading comes out of the range despite low or high consider the magnet coil to replace.

Aapki iss video ko follow krte hue hmne bhi armature coil check ki... Perfect reading aa rhi hai aapki trh. Fir bhi charging coil se 12v ac current kyu aa raha hai

aapki coil kahi se burn to nahi hai ( black to nahi hui hai) , blue/white wires ground ke sath beep to nahi de rahi ? , kahi rust to nahi laga hua hai , aggar nahi to phir sab sahi hona chahiye

@@SAIREPAIR nhi dono blue wire... Sirf aaps me check krne pr beep bjta hai. Aur sbhi (5) wires, black wire k saath beep nhi bjta.. short circuit nhi hua hai. Jab coil me reading sb perfect aa rhi aapki video ki trh.. tb kya dikkt hai jo only 12v ac nikl raha charging coil se. Ab coil change krr denge.. fir nhi thik hua to money waste

I have some questions.. 1. Does pickup coil sends AC signal to CDI? 2. What is the frequency of AC signal of pickup coil that is sent to CDI?

yes its AC signal don't know the frequency , but you can''t check it with digital multimeter as it have pulsed current which maybe positive or negative , hence to check it you need a analog multimeter to get exact readings

SIR PLEASE HELP, which oil should i use in pulsar 150 ug2 (same as your model), which one do you use, the service manual says 20w40, but all 150 use 20w50, what should I do, there are few mistakes in service manual (maybe), but even if it says 20w40, should I use 20w50 because engine is old so 20w50 will be more thick and reduce wear of engine, please tell, i am considering motul easter 15w50, but should i use 20w50 ? Or w40 ? Because all 20w40 are cheap, i want to use fully synthetic oil, but in 20w40. no company makes fully synthetic, it is either 15w40 or 10w40 , what should i do please tell.

Bhai mere aak salah hai plz iss bike me synthetic oil mat dalna only mineral oil ya semi senthetic dalo mene full synthetic dala tha bike me friction increased ho gya vibration badh gyi or overheating mere salah hai bhai baki aapki marzi😊

cdi pe ek tar pe aapko 12 volt dc milni chahiye , vo check karo ki mil rahi hai ya nahi , agaar nahi milrahi hai to relay check karo jo battery ke pass mai hoga bahi jada tar problem aati hai, agaar cdi ki ek wire pe 12 volt mil rahi hai to phir ht coil ki input wire pe ek wire lagage self marte same is wire ko body se touch karke dekhe ki spak aa raha hai ya nahi , agaar spark hai to ht coil kharb agaar spark nahi to cdi kharab

I have checked magnet Coil my 2006 pulsar as u shown in vedio...all Coil are good conditions...but RR unit is getting heat while running....and it's receive around 45 to 50 volts Ac in blue cable from magnet Coil in high rpm...can u tell me How much volts AC should come to RR unit ....in

I have old model Activa with separate lighting and pickup coil. Problem is original RR unit was bad and gave 4-5V charging. Headlight became dim with throttle. Replaced the RR unit but now charging voltage is not adequate, not reaching 14V. Is it possible that charging coil has become weak? Vehicle is 2009 model.

what was the charging output you were getting with old rr unit , if you gets the proper out with that one then the new rr unit is faulty , if your old rr unit is bad too and don't give proper voltage for charging , then you need to check the voltage coming out from the coil at rr units input wires and see it it increases when you throttle , can't tell you the readings , for that use internet to search , you mention not reaching 14 volt , but even if you get 13 + volt that,s sufficient if that's the case, open the coil and see if there is any rust there or check it if its short with ground as show in video or for any burns , then you need to replace it

problem do jagha se ho sakti hai pehli magnet ke pass se aggar pickup coil proper single nahi de rahi ho , jo ki kam hi chances hai phir bhi check kare, or dusra CDI kharab hogi ya CDI se coil tak ki wiring bhi cut ho sakti hai

sir aapka answer video mai hi hai , aapni charging wires ko check karo ki bo kahi ground ke sath short to nahi hai , agar ye case nahi hai to phir motorcycle mai kahin or aapki koi positive wire strip hoke body se touch ho rahi hogi

@@SAIREPAIR thank you for the reply bhai. Sunday pura bike tear down karke check karunga. Problem hamare yaha ye hai ki koi bi local mechanic wiring thik karke nai deta hai. Sab ko aasanwali kaam chahiye. 2 month se face karraha hu.

Hello bhai. Maine sab wiring check kiya charging ka bi. Koi bi positive ground ko touch nai hai. Ye mera 2nd coil plate the ground pura andar tak jalgaya hai. Pulsar 150 ug1 model hai mera. New coil lane jaraha hu
