@@KitePaddleSurf will you guys have any reviews coming out on the Torq Tet Fun V+? I'm in that group that is a beginner but wants to be a better surfer. I'm pretty into that board in the 8'2 (i'm 195lbs). Seems like a such a good value that I can keep on riding as I figure this out. I've mostly just spent my time at Westport and near Canon Beach

@@jojotherider1977 We are going to be working on that review next. The TET Fun V+ is a awesome board to learn to surf. Maybe a little challenging for the total beginner but if you're starting to pop up and catch waves then you'll do great on that board. At 70L that board will be perfect for you. That board is available online at kitepaddlesurf.com if you're interested. Thanks again for watching.

I’m 6’5 around 210 lbs. I’ve been surfing for around 6 months now. I started on a 7ft water logged foamie lol. Recently been using a 9ft longboard. Surfed it on 5-6ft swell yesterday and had so much fun. Caught everything I paddled for and took some crazy drops. I still haven’t mastered going down the line, still going pretty straight. I was thinking of getting a 7’4 or 7’6, do you think that’d be okay for me to progress too???

WOW, great to hear your stoke for surfing. At your height and weight, I definitely wouldn't go to small, you don't want to sacrifice your wave count for too small of a board. This would be a great next board for you, plenty of volume and length for catching waves. This is one of our most popular boards for beginners transitioning from larger boards to something smaller. Hope this helps you out. www.kitepaddlesurf.com/products/torq-tet-mod-fun-v-surfboard?_pos=1&_sid=4bed90eab&_ss=r&variant=44883004719356

hi!! so i'm about 160lbs and 5'4, i'm a beginner beginner and want to kind of teach myself how to surf. i was going to take lessons, but due to low winds and smalls waves I got canceled on. I don't mind the small waves, and honestly i think it'd be a little better for the moment. do you mind recommending the right board for me?

Stoked to hear your getting into surfing. I am built just like you weight and height, and this is the board I learned to surf on. It's a great board to learn on and progress with you. These boards are built tough to take a beating. I would recommend the Torq TET Longboard 8' for you this is the link to the board on our website. Hope you found this helpful. Good luck with your surfing. www.kitepaddlesurf.com/products/torq-tet-longboard?_pos=1&_sid=863f68106&_ss=r&variant=44348774088956

Hey there! I'm 1.81m x 91kg (5'11" x 200lb), did 4/5 surf sessions and am already hooked to it (quite obvious coming from skate/snowboard)! I want to buy a beginner surfboard to start progressing solidly, what about a 6'8" 75L foamie or the same board but 8'6" 90L volume? Any other suggestions like a mini mal?
@KitePaddleSurf
@KitePaddleSurf 9 месяцев назад
Stoked to hear you got into surfing. The 8'6" is going to be a better board for you to progress on because the length is almost just as import as the volume. An 8'-8'6" board is going to be a much more stable platform to build a solid pop-up to your feet. 6'8" is not as stable for mastering the pop-up at your weight. Once you have a solid pop-up on an unbroken wave (not the white wash) Then I would recommend a 7'-7'6" board. You can always keep that 8'-8'6" board for the small days. Hope this helps you out, we have some 8' catch surf Logs available on our online store kitepaddlesurf.com Thanks for watching the Review.

How does a newbie know if they want to surf short or longboards? My daughter (age11) has been surfing at camp with an 8ft foam, how do we know what to transition her into? She said she would like to do "turns"
@customerservice8999
@customerservice8999 10 месяцев назад
Hello from Kite Paddle Surf. Many surfers have both long and short options and choose depending on the conditions. Longboards are generally better in weaker waves. Short boards are easier to turn but harder to pop up on. At 11 yo I would consider some of the short options from Catch Surf for her. Let us know how to help. - DJ

Try a hybrid or funboard, or maybe even a fishboard if she’s good bc they have lots of volume and can move like a shortboard

Ok so I’m a big boy, about 240 will anything in the surfing world work? I think myself I’d fall under that category or wanting a beginner board that I can improve and get way better with. But idk if any size would fit my weight.

Hey, you're not too heavy to surf at all. I would definitely recommend getting the 9' catch surf Log, plenty of volume to float you. With progression you can definitely improve on that board it won't be a floating dock for you. Here's a link down below to the board. www.kitepaddlesurf.com/products/catch-surf-odysea-log-surfboard?_pos=1&_sid=8b1351930&_ss=r&variant=44867460563196

Stoked to hear you are getting into surfing. The two options I suggest would be either a Torq TET Longboard 8' This board would be great if your able to get out and surf on a regular basis. www.kitepaddlesurf.com/products/torq-tet-longboard?_pos=1&_sid=cdb26d02b&_ss=r&variant=44348774088956 If you're not able to get out surfing on a regular basis, then I would suggest the Catch Surf 8' Log. This board is going to be easier to surf at first and it's going to get you into more waves, however it will be less maneuverable then the Torq Longboard. www.kitepaddlesurf.com/products/catch-surf-odysea-90-log-surfboard?_pos=1&_sid=502c2e574&_ss=r&variant=44655141028092

Hi, I'm 75kg and 5'8 , I'm a beginner and i want to have fun and improve my surfing over time, so what would be the perfect size? Will 6'6 do?
@KitePaddleSurf
@KitePaddleSurf 2 месяца назад
I think a 6'6" board will be a little too small to learn on. I would recommend going no smaller than a 7'4" This will give you enough float to paddle into waves early and provide stability for your pop-up. This Torq Fun V+ surfboard is great to learn on, extra volume in a shorter length. Also at 22.5" wide it provides tons of stability for when your up and surfing the wave. These Torq boards for the price are incredible value, they are strong, light and incredibly durable. If you have any more ?'s let us know. www.kitepaddlesurf.com/products/torq-tet-mod-fun-v-vortex-pattern?_pos=3&_sid=6a2201faa&_ss=r

5’8 180 lbs. what’s a good size for me?
@KitePaddleSurf
@KitePaddleSurf 6 месяцев назад
Thanks for the ? I would suggest a board around 8'. The catch Surf Log is fantastic beginner board plenty of volume but still maneuverable when you want it to be. The Log offers tons on stability because of its width. Another reason I like the Log for beginners is because the nose has plenty of thickness which helps keep the nose from pearling into the wave. With an 8' board make sure you have at least an 8' leash to keep the board far enough away from you when you crash. Hope you found this helpful, these boards are available at our website [kitepaddlesurf.com] Thanks for watching the video, have a great day.

@customerservice8999
@customerservice8999 4 месяца назад
Are you already consistently catching waves? A 6'0" is probably too short so I would recommend a longer board. The length is critical to paddling speed to catch waves and build a consistent pop up. You will progress faster and build more skill using a 7'6" mid-length board or a longboard like a 8'0".

@@customerservice8999This is my first surfboard, and I'm a beginner. The only size supplied here is this, which is a fun fact. While watching the surfing videos, I got confused as I failed to spot a 6-foot board in any of them.
@aarO-eu1yr
@aarO-eu1yr 4 месяца назад
@@customerservice8999 To be honest, this is my first surf board, therefore I'm a newbie. I know nothing about surfing. The waves will barely be five feet high here. I was unable to find a single 6-foot board in any of the RU-vid videos. Here, surfing is not very common, so if I choose the wrong size, I was concerned.

@KitePaddleSurf

That's true cheap boards work as long as they float and have fins still attached to them. Regardless of the board it's all about having fun in the ocean.
@natural_law
@natural_law 2 дня назад
Cheap longboard and a cheap shortboard are 2 different beasts, so the longboard is the best option.
