Good advice; thanks. Re Carbon bows: My price limit of £1000 seems a bit low compared to the $40,000 mentioned!!! But at that price range Arcus carbon bows seem to be easily the match of the wooden bows.
Your comments are informative also about perhaps choosing different bows for different works. I also have several bows, and this has given me ideas about trading off/testing them on different styles to find which I prefer for these. Thank you.
Both with a cello and bow the sound different under the ear. If you can take a good player with you so you can listen. Do a blind test and decide which you like better.
