Hi Jill. I would also like to know where you send your masks. I live in Waterloo ON and it seems the closest places are in Cali and Florida. BTW, I really enjoyed Into the Planet. I am in Mx for my Cave intro in 2 weeks. Keep the videos coming!
How am I supposed to know how high I want the bifocal line if I have never done this and its $250 for a set of lens. I would have to pick the wrong height and have to remake them.
Hi Jill. thanks for the video. A few things I want to mention from personal experience. the glue in lenses you mentioned that you no longer use- I tried them. although inexpensive, I found in warm tropical areas, the glue became undone and I lost one of the lenses when came back on the boat. I also had bifocal prescription lenses done (my dive shop has an optometrist that does it), it is ground directly in the lens- very, expensive (several hundred dollars). Do NOT do this with Atomic masks- I love the mask, but cannot pop out the lens and replace if need new mask and want to keep the same lens. I would be interested if you can tell the viewers whee you got the bifocal part done so we can make own inquires.
I order one from amazon, and my prescription is really simple. I don't need a bifocal. I will never dive or swim without an RX mask or goggles. Water act as a lens so I order -4 instead of -5 by the suggestion of my optometrist
Hi, thaks for your video ! I have a question, do you add a bit of like 0,25 or 0,5 diopters to underwater lenses than used on land ? I use +2 and I have noticed that underwater with the same mask I see a bit worst.
Technically, you should be able to use the same mag that you use topside, but I recently did just as you advise... I made my mask readers .5 higher in magnification and I love it.
This segment was labeled how to choose ... I was hoping there would be a from lesson. There wasn't any information on who makes these handy dandy bifocals.
