I love this video, I already follow Diana on Instagram and her posts are beautiful and inspirational. Supported spindle spinning is so calming and meditative, and it's much better behaved in public so it doesn't attract as much attention as a drop spindle (no crawling around under chairs and furniture saying 'sorry, excuse me' to retrieve an escaped spindle).

Wonderful video! There certainly are a lot of support spindles out there and they are a joy to work with as well as look at. I'm still learning how to spin with mine, but I find it is true that the 11" spindle is fairly comfortable to work with.

Slowly growing my collection of spindles. They have definitely improved my spinning on the wheel after focusing on spindle spinning.

This was such an informative interesting video. I would like to try and do some spinning. This would be a start. You explained very well the difference between them. Have severe elbow tendonitis from years of crocheting and knitting. Wonder if spinning would affect a flare up. Thank you🤗

My first support spindle was from Australia, a Baby Pu Yok. It spins forever so your hands have time to get the muscle memory down pat.. it was from the Spindle Shop. I have quite a few from the States, Spanish Peacock spin long, Woodland Woodworks are beautiful.. I have an Allen Barry ocean themed one that I love, and two Mingo and Asho glass spindles.. I have a Goddess spindle and my only Canadian spindle I had is from here in Nova Scotia ‘Fox Mountain Spindles” and my german shepherd got it as a puppy and ruined it, plus two Spanish Peacocks. Bad puppy lol. What are some other Canadian Spindle makers?

I'm not sure of current Canadian makers but both Ed Tabachek and Tom Forrester made supported spindles. They can still be found.
