I can't wait to try out drafting film. But currently oversupplied on wc paper. Crying in Hot press until supplies dwindle. Thanks for the paper tour!

Thanks for this Bonny Only used drafting film once, which was for your zebras in your book.....never used it since ( even tho I loved it) Think I might have to choose it more often 👍

Great video, I’ve only ever used hot press and I’m not impressed so I will definitely be trying others. Is that a wolfhound in the background btw? I love wolfies my parents have had quiet a few. If I didn’t live in an apartment size house I’d have one.

What pastelmat brand do you use? I'm astounded that you managed a smooth finish. No matter how many layers of colored pencil, or which brand of pencil, plus using a soft pastel underpainting, I have a grainy finish. I work the paper every way the experts advise, but I have a grainy finish. So, I thought, maybe you use a better quality paper. Thanks for sharing your expertise.

There’s only one pastelmat and that’s made by clairefontaine - you need to work light over dark as you layer - I don’t use pastels 🥰

@@BonnySnowdonAcademy I have Strathmore and Canson pastel paper. Apparently these are not the same as pastelmat. I can find Clairefontaine pastelmat in the US. Thanks for distinguishing there is a difference.

Hi Amy - those two weren’t a tutorial although there’s some footage in the academy. I had permission from a photographer but not as a tutorial I’m afraid

At 13:44 re. the background of the portrait, you say - "I bought the background in..." Could you explain what you mean by this please? Is it a second surface or an underlay of a separate sheet of paper/pastelmat? Thanks.
