Not sure about the different varieties that you have in this video since it's been a few years since having microbraids. I used MilkyWay 1b, 16 inch, usually would get two packs and all would be used except about half of the second pack. My braids usually lasted about 2.5 to 3 months that included washing them, keeping my scalp moisturized, and putting in different styles. The young lady that did my hair took about 5 hours with breaks by herself, time was shorter when her sister worked with her. I didn't have any breakage with my edges at all and they weren't tight at all, could put in a ponytail when she was done! Wish I had kept in touch with her.
Deborah Benefield thank you so much for your info on the Milky Way brand. I need to do micro wet & wavy braids and I was going crazy trying to chose what was the best brand and what could I afford. So many ppl say good things about they HH bulk hair. Thank you 🙏🏽😊🙌🏽
Good info but I microbraid with remy cuticle aligned human hair all of the time and have no tangling issues. I think it depends on how you maintain it and what products are used. I also use the method where you fold a few inches of the hair at the scalp to braid and then incorporate my hair in as I go along so maybe she’s braiding differently. Anyway you can also use silicon mix on hair to prevent the issues after coating is washed off. Best synthetic hair that I have discovered is I and I ez braid and the organique braiding hair which looks and acts like human hair
I want quality... it does no good to get bad hair n spend all the money on the braiding... I want the braids and hair to last as long as possible... thanks you
This is such a wonderful tutorial! *Please* do something similar with a light colored shirt and table, we really can't see the hair. Thank you though!!!
I just had a very terrible experience with the braider providing the hair , It wasn't human hair as she stated and now my hair is mated in 24 hrs , smh ..... I want to thank you because from here on out I will be buying my own hair and now I know what to buy ... Thank you sooo Much for your video !!!!
I have used the Encore hair before it's a good grade of hair but it doesn't get as wavy as milky way or dream weaver. If you can find the milky way wet and wavy it usually Costs around 25 per pack it would be a better choice. The hair already comes out the pack in a tight wave patteren. And you Won't have to use mousse to make it wavy. Only water. Dream weaver u can use for 3-5 months and I only purchase it when I have the Africans braid my hair because the hair barley tangles, and it's 100% human
+Crystal Haskins thanks for your info because I heard people are having difficult time getting encore to curl. I was looking for something that will last 3 to 5 months until I can afford better.
I would go for the higher end brand because I like the length and the wave looks more natural. It's been almost 5 years since I've worn braids of any kind, but I am interested in getting some really long box braids with human hair. I usually prefer yaki or kinky hair though.
I agree I use to use Beverly Johnson and then after the years had passed there packs were chopped up in pieces and stiff almost like synthetic our company doesn’t even carry it anymore
So I’m not doing full micros, I am braiding the hair about an inch and a half down and the. leaving the rest lose to imitate the idea of micro bead extensions. Would I use remy hair in this case?
Thanks for sharing this information. I really rely on my stylist and hope that they make the best choice for my hair type and style. Now I can make an informed decision.
Can let us know how many packs we would need?? It's great to know the initial cost but how many packs to buy is important. Do you reuse any of the braiding hair I mean install, wear, take down, save the hair, and reinstall like with a weave? Can you give you opinion on synthetic vs human blend vs 100% human hair??
Thanks for this..it helps alot! I was also wondering about Flat ironing the wet and wavy hair. I notice that once you do that to some hair, it will not go back to wet n wavy. Do you know any brands that allow you to go back and forth from wet n wavy to straight?
I have only gotten my hair in micros twice. I don't really care for the hair they use. They say it's human but I can never curl it with curlers. I'm able to use flat irons tho and it will straighten. I have to frequently wash my hair as well so this helps me choose the best hair
The thing a but the hair is that you're trying the wave wet once with water well water hydrates the hair and we need to see the hair after several times of the hair being wet. Because after while wearing it the water dries the hair out.which makes thebahir dry to the look and dry to the feel and it becomes stiff, like dead hair really is you know which is why the hair is processed in manufacturing
I prefer the online European hair because of consistency in length, texture and color. If I *have* to use beauty supply hair, I will buy the mid-priced hair. unfortunately in Oakland, CA, mid-priced hair is $69.99 a pack. Unfortunately, it is impossible to remove all the cuticle from all of the hair. It will eventually tangle -- no matter how expensive -- unless you put in tons of product. I can't stand product and I have to wash often. I give *all* the hair I buy -- store-bought and online -- the bleach and ammonia treatment *before* I braid to flatten what cuticle that remains. Once I had to buy some REALLY cheap hair. I mean, it looked like it was shaved off a gorilla. But I was *desperate*. It was Easter Sunday at church time and the only place open was a gas station/liquor store/beauty supply/something store. I had a whole section at the top of my head to do and I needed to be cute at a BBQ! I soaked that gorilla hair in bleach then ammonia for like, 5 mins each bath. The gorilla hair actually stayed nicer than the expensive hair after 4 week of wear.
Thanks for this video. Very informative. I usually go to a certain beauty supply store. But this last time the hair was very soft but I had hell keeping it soft daily. I have to wash it often due dust at my job. Thanks. I'll be trying his and hers next
I love the jazzwave anna deep bulk hair so much buy they ran don't seem to have it any where so I searched online only to see they don't have that many color options which is really sad because I loved that brand & style in their color 33 use to get 18 inch & I'd love to try it also in a like 22 inch
hello, ive purchased from his and her before but not braiding hair. how long would you say your braids last looking neat in his and hers hair, i keep my braids in about a month and a half thanks
i would honestly want the braiding hair from hisandher but the 12.99 is what i might get, only because i don't keep my braids up for long. and i agree; bev johnson's quality has really went down. i wonder if its due to the demand on remy hair? you get something that's not remy but its super low quality so you HAVE to buy remy. maybe.
I bought the cheap kankelon hair for my daughters braids and the young lady left the ends out and dipped in hot water well the water wasn't hot enough so she kept it in several big platts. The braider did good but the hair was awful. I will spend more money on the hair next time but not over $25 a bag.
I've been doing twists, but the hair is just so itching until its painful. Have you come across people who are have this sensitivity and what could you suggest good hair.I like the puffy look.
Oh my, thanks so much for this video and information. The only I didn't hear was the brand of the cheapest hair. I'm in love with the hair from His & Hers... lol but just in case at this time I can't afford it, I need the name of of the cheaper hair. Thanks much :-)
I cant find Bohyme bulk anymore (for braiding) all I see is the weave hair in stores now, Can I cut it off of the weft? Is it the same hair as the braiding hair?
@haughtybitchable well some people like me can't wear synthetic hair because my skin breaks out or it doesn't lay as looking and that's why some women by moor expensive hair ......bummer
His and her dot com is just hype for another brand to market ,don't bekueve the hyoe nobody needs to buy that hair . some people may use it because the braider is endorsing it for sale.
