Bamboo whisk, also called Chasen, is an essential tool for making matcha drinks. Today I'm guiding you to pick the right bamboo whisk for you.
The rule of thumb is to ask yourself: which vessel do you use most often to make matcha? Do you have a traditional Japanese tea bowl (Chawan) available or you only have a coffee mug? Do you make matcha latte more often or matcha straight up (ceremonial) more often?

This is the most serious bamboo whisk perfect for making matcha ceremonial (Usucha/Koicha) in a tea bowl, along with a matcha sifter (strainer), a ceramic bamboo hold and a bamboo scoop.

This one is for making matcha latte in a coffee mug. It's not meant for "whisking" matcha, instead "kneading" matcha powder into a paste as an espresso base. If you're a fan of matcha latte, this whisk is perfect for you.

The travel set is our one of our bestsellers as it's an economical choice for matcha beginners. It's quite low maintenance and easy to be carried around. Please note that the scoop is foldable so it doesn't work with a sifter (usually higher grade matcha requires sifting prior to mixing).
