I like the Fasco tip. I'm a Spax person. They've done me quite well. Spax wood screws are often combo Philips and Square drive. Their construction lags are hard to beat and have the Torx head.
Understand, but for me the torx bits are perfectly sized to the size of the screws. From the smallest trim screw to the largest construction screw. Love em! Won't buy anything else but they aren't cheap!@@TodaysCraftsmen
Square drive here so it’s one driver for all screws. Well besides hinge or drawer slide screws which are Phillips head. And I buy from Quick screws. 1 1/4”, 1 5/8”, 1 1/4 & 1 1/2 coarse & fine pocket screws.
Torx all day. Great FastCo tip, love the idea of same head across lengths. I run 1-3/4 for cabinet construction... I've heard sometimes length matters. 🤪
As a German living in Québec I'm starting to like the Robertson type, which doesn't really exist in Germany. Arriving here one year ago I first thought that these were screws from former times, the good old days...
Big fan of the square Robertson head screws. They never cam out for me, much better than Phillips in my opinion. I order mine from mcfeelys and have been really happy with the quality and the price is reasonable
We used to order the combo drive from McFeely’s and the fit was horrendous. We were also getting our Spax screws from them. Check out Fasco, you won’t be disappointed.
I'll look into them. Never tried the combo drive, just seems like there's no way that would work well so I've steered clear. I do love their strait up square drives though
Down here we mostly use those black drywall phillips #2 screws, other kind are a little more expensive and not easy to get in a regular hardware store. For the pocket hole I order my screws on line and they can take (if i'm luky) one day to a week to get them to me, so I try to have enough on stock. Como siempre, saludos desde Puerto Vallarta, México
