This is my second comment of this video and I just want to say Richard I feel blessed being able to watch your channel knowing that there is not going to be a bunch of foul junk coming out of your mouth like there is on so many channels that are out there today your channels are ones that I feel safe having my little grandson on my knee watching and you are greatly appreciated my friend, I know that you are a brother in Christ and I pray that he continues to bless you and your family!!!

Thanks Ervin. We want everyone interested to be able to watch without being surprised and or turned off by content that has no place in a family setting. Don’t understand why or how someone could publish fowl comments or video. But evidently some “can’t help themselves.”

I really liked how you broke down and explained the differences in the components of these tools. I didn't realize there were so many different types of axes out there, and appreciate you helping provide a better understanding of when they'd be most applicable. Thanks for sharing!

No problem. I’m just a novice but enjoy using them. Question to you: if I place a mini hut 55 ft away from panels with a 50 ft run of ac to my cabin and another 50 ft from that point to my workshop, will it work correctly?

Richard and family, I can't imagine what type of person would find something nasty to say about you folks. You're a wholesome, downhome, bread and butter American family. I've been watching you since year one when you were laying out footings for the cabin. I love that you are sharing your experiences with us all and also you are a teacher whether you know it or not. You are teaching me and all of us that these things are possible with a plan, good old fashioned hard work and dedication to excellence. I always look forward to new videos. God bless you and your family and keep up the amazing, inspiring work. 🇺🇲

Well thank you for the kind words. It’s our intention to keep our partnership with RU-vid clean and wholesome for family entertainment. If some feel like they need to make less than desirable comments, I will stop them from ever making a future comment.

Thanks for the review Richard; walk through memory lane for me considering all the old antique hand tools my dad had and used. And thanks for establishing a position regards needless, thoughtless negative posting.

Great video Richard, keep up the great videos and ALL the fun you all share while making these videos. It adds quality and peacefulness to each day being able to see life being enjoyed as it should be. It's sure good to see both your young ones sharing time with you rummaging around Antique Stores looking for treasures from the past that are still usable. Keep up the fun and enjoying life. Fred.

Very interesting and informative about the different axes, shapes, sizes and uses. I love that your channel is so family oriented and that you share your amazing family with all of us and also make US feel like family too. Thank you. So enough of the Show & Tell, y'all get back to work now! Chop, Chop!!! (Pun intended, a bad pun but still a pun! 😂) God Bless. #SMO #SmokyMountainOutpost #Smoky #Dolly #WhatWeDoin'?

I enjoy watching your channel. You remind me of my late Dad. I hope that folks that feel the need to make comments like that would find this as a warning to stop. There is already too much uglinest (sp?) in this world, there is no need to spread it to this nice channel. Richard and his kids seem like the kindest folks on the planet. Please refrain from being so mean or off-color.

Does Beaver Craft also have a froe that you know of? Do you have a link for that draw knife? All of them I find are 10" ones. thanks for any help.

Hey there, I don't believe they have a froe available for purchase. Here is a link to the draw knife we use most often. It is 13". Again, it is cheap but it does the job, especially if you sharpen it. amzn.to/3SsbdKT

Beware of using a hatchet below knee level! The arc of your swing can bring it right back into you, I did it once splitting 1X2's. I guess it would have been a camp style like you described on the head type. The lower point of the edge deflected straight into the part of my shin that is skin over bone and went in 3/8ths of an inch by the blood mark on the blade, I was wearing shorts. That hurt like nobody's business! I guess just penetrating a bone isn't considered a break, all the ER did was put a band aid over it. I was worried about a bone infection or something, heck I already had a band aid on it when I walked in!

We hate that happened. I try to swing down 90 degrees. But accidents can still happen

Well in that case I will speak out if this were my setup I would set that wall back a couple of feet giving me more access around the back of the mill or move the mill out by building another footer and cantaleaver a small roof going opposite direction and covering the end of the new placement of the mill it just seems way to congested around the back of the mill for my liking I would never be able to not feel bound up I truly hope I am not removed it isn'ty intention to give narogrative feedback just saying I would not be comfortable in that small space
@OutpostReview
@OutpostReview 2 месяца назад
Good ideas. Wish I had known before I built it we would have a new mill. I don’t mind working the same set up like we had the last five years. We have a plan to add an area on the end for shaving logs and such. Probably won’t redo anything.
