How To Chrono Trigger 

Half of these games I've never had an interest in and most likely will never play, but I think you're hilarious, and you the way you present them keeps the videos entertaining all the way through. I've seen (or listened to) just about all your content and eagerly await each new release. You've helped me get through a lot of early morning slogs on my way to 0400 12 hr shifts, and for that, I thank you you.

47:50 Strat-edgy forgot a fun detail too- If a chest exists throughout the timelines in the same spots- Opening them in the past means they are open in the future, but resisting the urge to open them until you can open them as far into the future as they still exist? Means you get an upgraded version of the item- AND can go back and loot it again in the past. Another example of how chrono trigger was ahead of it's time with well- time.

Hearing you say Masamune like that almost bothers me enough to tell santa, you don't get presents this year; yet bringing the boys back, and reviewing this game makes me wanna buy you a couple beers and take you to a strip club to get your first taste of neglected snatch. Love ya lol

Quite possibly the best soundtrack of any game, ever, and also an absolutely legendary game. One of my all time favourites. It never gets old.

I remember being genuinely sad at the part where the other robots turn on Robo. It was painful to see his genuine confusion at being attacked by his own, who he clearly perceived as being a kind of "family" to him. I know the feelz. Being betrayed by people you thought you knew. People you trusted. Anyway, I, too, loved this game and would recommend it to anyone. Absolute banger. Great story. Fantastic soundtrack. They really don't make them like this anymore and that's a shame.

one of the things about doing the side quests is giving crono the Rainbow Sword and Sunglasses and then using Confusion (snes original name, forget its remaster name) and having Crono crit 4 times to a single target for like 15k each hit. Boy became a one man army.

As a person who didn't play this game as kid this game was super informative as to why people love this game. And i can see how as a kid, and to a degree as an adult, this would be kick ass! Thanks for this little history lesson in gaming. Keep it up!

23:10 I think it’s more geared towards new game + players. Chrono Trigger is like the first game with a new game + and they play into it really well with the breadth of things you can only accomplish with the levels of a repeat play-through.

I played this when I was like 17. Was looking for something like final fantasy. Been my favorite game ever since. Got all the bis weapons

I also enjoy the Doc and Nick thing. Not only for the jokes, but also for the slight difference in perspective it adds, even if one is a strawman. I thought about skipping this video because chrono trigger looks really neat. But then I realized by the time I get to it I'll probably have forgotten most of this anyways. Huzzah for bad memory! I enjoyed the video. It's always nice when a reviewer has more to say about a game than nitpicking a bad games flaws even further, or bootlicking the best things of a good game and how all game designers should follow it. I kinda hope you enjoyed making it, but maybe it doesn't matter if you didn't.

I love how you just skip big plot elements sometimes, like how the sword that pierces the Lavo’s machine transforms into the masamune, revealing the sword’s origins, something most games of this kind with a legandady sword, wouldn’t even bother doing.

The Chrono Trigger animation was not part of the original SNES release.

The golems (single or double) are the easiest bosses of the game. Why? Because when you use elemental magic against them they copy it, but it's not instantaneous. So just spam various elemental attacks until they die. Maybe they'll get one or two attacks in, top.

The positioning based combat is interesting in theory, but in practice you have zero control of the positions of your party so it's more of a luck factor than anything else. I understand that Square wanted to keep the combat quick and simple, but it's wasted potential.

I’d just like to say that Marle is far and away the worst part member. Like, you’d think with how plot-critical she is, that she’d be more useful, but no, her magic sucks, and the absolute maximum damage she can do on her own is 777, which, granted, is a guaranteed 777, but when literally every other party member can get a guaranteed 1,000 at minimum, 95% of the time, and the remaining 5% of the time can be made up for by any of the other party members, Marle just has no excuse for being so useless.

It’s a strange mix of melancholy and joy to watch a playthrough of Chrono Trigger. Pure nostalgia

The DragonBall animation style was how I did all my drawings as a kid. I loved FF7 when I was a kid too, so when I heard about Chrono Trigger, it seemed like everything my young self ever wanted. Picked it up last summer sale, so I'll be watching this video after!

Still one of my all-time favorite games. I had a son a little over a year ago, and he loves this soundtrack -- particularly the title track.

Fun fact: Masa and Mune are called Gran and Leon in the japanese version, which makes the sword The Granleon. That always seemed better to me than a western sword being named after a japanese swordsmith.

One thing I loved about this game is how it even lets you collect the mystical chests multiple times by getting them in the future, then in previous eras (although some items are more powerful in the future, becoming mail in future eras, and vest in older one). It's really clever use of time travel imo
