Zane No it’s not, because cats wash themselves and if they are wild they still do but they have flees and r dirty so no u r just traumatising the cat

I once i had stray cat which we adopted but we never once washed her or gave her a batch she smelled amazing never once had a bad smell besides her breath it always smelled like fish and cat food because we fed her that we did try giveing her a bath but it was impossible she would jump bite scratch you know it but house cats are very clean she never once pooped or threw up hair balls in the house she always did it outside

I just imagined someone eating a hamburger and a volounteer running in screaming, "DON'T USE THOSE TONGS!!! I HAD TO CLEAN FRECKLE'S POOP EARLIER TODAY AND I USED THOSE TONGS!!!" but it's too late because the burger is half eaten...

A big problem about abused and abandoned wild animals like these big cats is that many of them were born in captivity and then discarded, or were forcefully taken away from their habitats as presents for rich people (BCR mentioned that some of their cats were born from captured parents, and were kept in apartments or estates belonging to businessmen or drug dealers, who didn't care about the cats very much and eventually abandoned them or had to leave them after being arrested). Big Cat Rescue is a godsend because these poor creatures can't simply return to the wild. They have "unlearned" their habitats and may not be able to feed, clean or protect themselves properly. That said, there are too many companies and foresters encroaching on wild territories that should remain in the care of Mother Nature, unbothered by humans. There ought to be more unions and organizations to protect the environment from pollution, deforestation, hunting and capture of wild animals for circuses, zoos and private estates :/ And in the meantime, the government ought to provide more funds to reserves like BCR so that they can give abandoned animals another chance at a gainful, natural life. But if our governments don't care about /our/ health, employment and happiness, they sadly will care even less about the rest of Mother Nature's children :(

Thanks a zillion for giving me a way to do something without donating money. I've been out of work for nearly two years (disabled) and have free time to call legislators and the like. I read what you explained about how much more attention aides and the politicians themselves give to phone calls and real-world letters. That's absolutely true, in my experience. Keep those beauties safe. I only recently saw what a clouded snow leopard looks like. My god, there aren't word to describe them. :)

Donate to help if you must and if you think you are seriously contributing to protect these unfortunate creatures but how much really goes to the care and well being of animals? There are advertisements, mailings, administration costs and salaries to non-animal handlers and a whole network of paid people working under the guise of non-profit. Wild animals do not belong in cages, especially the big cats.

Agreed, David. That's why it's imperative to thoroughly research whatever organization you're going to give your time and money to. On Animal Planet, there's a show about big cats hosted by a man who's been cited not only for fraud, but animal cruelty, several times. I was appalled when I checked him out. (He has vids on YT, too.) We do need places, however, for wild, sentient, animals to live out their lives after having been stolen and bought as "pets" for ignorant human assholes. Since they can't be returned to their native homes, they'll be euthanized otherwise. We cannot allow that to happen. If our government(s) (states and feds) put a tenth of the money into stopping the cruel and ecologically disastrous trade in "exotic" animals that they do into the putative drug war, we could clean that up in a decade.

David Ross i donated and i did because i can see from these videos that these cats are well cared for, they look healthy and happy! that is how you know. and of course there are other costs, how could there not be? these people are doing a wonderful thing saving these cats from US!
