I do industrial HVAC and let me tell you that those minisplits get absolutely disgusting. We have used those speed clean bib kits in the past and they work great but the newer ones quality just isn’t the same and want to keep breaking. As for the sprayer I’ve never used one and have been trying to get my company to purchase them but they have a very steep price tag
@Jeff_S...

Is this thing strictly for mini-splits? Does it have enough power to blast through any indoor coil and not make a massive mess in the process?

Used to use that coil cleaner unit at my last service job. They worked pretty well.

I love that coil jet system but mine kept breaking down, it was too expensive for me to keep replacing them. I owned 3 at a time for my guys to use and they would last a year. However, we would use them at least 16 hours a week all year long. The mini split kit is great 😎

If you're using it that often shouldn't it pay itself off fairly quickly if you're charging a tool rental fee for each job?

Im no HVAC Tech but it would seem to me you get a lot of use out of them, even if you have to replace every year. Do they not pay for themselves many times over?
@cesarmoore7996
@cesarmoore7996 2 месяца назад
@@robertboss2581 yes but it a big inconvenience to keep buying them, I would have no way of knowing when it would break and if I could not find one online at the time then I would lose money. Even if they pay for themselves, I would want the product to last much more than a year. I would assume any normal person would want that.
@robertboss2581
@robertboss2581 2 месяца назад
@cesarmoore7996 its understandable if it's an inconvenience that can be replaced with another tool, but if it helps offer a unique service, then I would say just bite the bullet and buy extras. They pay for themselves after just a few services I would imagine and if you get a whole year out of it, then they basically print money.

What do you do for the mini split drain cause as it's overflowing in to your bag which I've used the same setup bag and sprayer just wondering cause isn't all that gunk going in to the drain as well I've had level units drains glog after the clean later in time just wondering if you address that and how
@Merkimer.
@Merkimer. 3 месяца назад
Vacuum the drain line from outside, or remove the hose from back of the unit and blow through it with pressurized water after you’re finished washing the unit

I tried it and base on my experience would rather remove the blower wheel and clean the coil and rest with no rinse evaporator cleaner setting up that bib takes time and effort, especially in tight areas and can be messy

Its just an expensive tool zack , ivation portable sprayer is better or potablaster too by subco

Absolutely better , too many issues with check valves etc. , ivation is less expensive weighs less, longer hose and less issues

I add a 1” polyester filter with filter spray on top of all of my mini splits. Sure it looks ugly, but so does a $300 invoice just to clean your indoor head. No wonder the blower wheels and coils get nasty, the fishing line filters don’t work. Get a clue manufacturers. I only do service and maintenance on my installs of mini split heat pumps.

I just wonder what you would have to charge to properly do this every time? All things considered I just want to be able to do the best job possible but sometimes the company I work for doesn’t allow that

Customers buy a cheap mini split heat pumps and they expect cheap maintenance, but the maintenance takes three times as long and cost three times as much. If I didn’t put the mini split heat pump in, I don’t do the maintenance and I definitely don’t do the service work on it. I did a maintenance on the outdoor unit (not my install) and got an E6 comm error code. Never again. Finally got it dried out and working again. Used the aerosol foaming coil cleaner on the indoor coil and got the hell out of there. Customer was hinting around that I broke their unit and we’re gonna have to buy them a new one after 12 years. No thx. Call someone else to work on your jackleg diy installs.
