I just use a steel wool and a good half a can of acetone about once a month! For some reason the picture and screen get worse every time, but I know in my head that it's clean as a whistle! The swirls made by the steel wool look really cool when hippie flipping! It all works out in the end! 👍💪💯 SARCASM!!!!..... BEING FACETIOUS!😉😜

I'm about to try your steel wool and acetone method since my 75 inch samsung still looks filthy after soaking it with bleach and pressure washing it with 4200 PSI. PSI STANDS for "please soak it" right?

Also note, don’t use baby wipes as they will leave residue on your screen and streak it, also no disinfecting wipes as they will leave residue on your screen. Just a helpful hint that will save you hassle and aggravation !!!

Purchased a new Samsung 7000 a year ago, so thanks for the info confirming their simple process to clean the screen. Samsung - 65” Class CU7000 Crystal UHD 4K Smart Tizen TV. Walmart price $477.99. For sure the best TV I’ve ever had since 1953 or 70yrs. The Superbowl was outstanding! Actually every thing I watch is great viewing. Great info!

My tv screen looked clean untill the sun shine on the black screen when it's off. Thick and very thin streaks like someone tried to scratch the tv with a object . Only cleaned with a dry fibre cloth and distilled water. The tv is wall mounted and im not sure where these streaks came from.

@Dj992Music
@Dj992Music Год назад
I don't recommend cleaning your TV screen while it is on. TVs produce heat and when you wipe with a wet cloth it causes a rapid change in temperature (thermal stress). Especially for OLED because the screens are so thin can damage the screen. You should turn the TV off for a good 15 minutes so the TV cools down as the manufacturer intends before cleaning with water.

I’ve used whoosh cleaner for my tv and phone screen. And that stuff on my phone makes the screen look out of the box and removes caked on dust on tvs

We have vertical streaks on our LG OLED. I have been using a Swiffer to lightly and gently dust the tv for years. When the sun hits the screen you only then see the streaks. Will this technique work here as well? Thank you!
@TheReviewFella
@TheReviewFella 6 месяцев назад
It depends what the streaks are. Dirt and grime are fairly easy to remove, oil stains less so. I’ve only ever used a very soft microfibre cloth to clean the screens on all my TVs. If anything was stuck on it I’d only ever use a drop of water.
@stevebachmanrealestate143
@stevebachmanrealestate143 6 месяцев назад
I think the streaks are from dusting the screen from using a swiffer duster which probably has a chemical that allows dust to attach to the swiffer.

I’ve used glass cleanser on my LG OLED for years now. Never had an issue and it gets it really clean and streak free
@TheReviewFella
@TheReviewFella Год назад
If it works for you then ok, but probably not recommended by the manufacturer. Depending on your TV and the material it's made from.

What if I just want to wipe of dirt? I use Swiffer Duster, is it okay to use it? Somewhere I read it contains mineral oil...
@TheReviewFella
@TheReviewFella Год назад
I’d just use a microfibre cloth which can easily be machine washed afterwards. Not familiar with that duster.
@balazskiss3092
@balazskiss3092 Год назад
@@TheReviewFella Well it's easier to use a duster. Just some wipes. I only use microfibre cloth when the screen is smudgy.

If I’m just removing dust, I just shake the cloth outside to remove the collected dust.

Does anyone know how to remove oily look alike blue smudge, literaly day 2 on my S90C, i noticed some fingerprints today, and i just tried to clean with that fiber that u use for glasses, fingerprints were gone but blue smudges appeared, not rly big, around 10 cm but annoing when u see it on natural light, on evening , in dark u dont see it ever. I know it is probably anti reflective coating but just want to remove it if i can without getting it worse, cause some guys literaly made 20 times worse when tried to remove it.

there used to be professional spray cleaner for CRT (can be used glass panels such as oled as well). It was from philips and smells like coconut. this stuff was amazing but it costed arround 60 dutch guilders at that time. It was available for retailers and manufacturers at philips. i wish this stuff was available again all i found was spectral spray from spectral, wich is pro and by far the best cleaner.

I use 3 micro fibre cloths the first one I dry wipe to remove dust residue the second cloth I hold slightly over boiling water to minimally dampen then wipe the screen gently in a circular motion the third cloth then does the final polish hey presto a brand new screen

Actually you need a flashlight, but you can use your smartphone’s flashlight. Shine the light on your tv screen while it’s off and you’ll see it’s still dirty after you’ve thought you’d cleaned it.

I don't know that distilled water is such a good choice. I read a few science articles about it. Apparently, at the point of bottling, distilled water is pH neutral, with a pH of 7. However, once it gets to the air it can get slightly acidic, from absorbing the air. I've used a small amount of tap water on a microfibre cloth, with no problems. It's safe to drink, so it shouldn't cause any problems, unless the pH of the tap water is acidic (which I know it can be.) I just make sure to use a dry side of the cloth after I've used the damp side, to ensure there's no water left on the screen.
@TheReviewFella
@TheReviewFella Год назад
Thanks for the info. I think the screens are more resilient than we sometimes think they are. And yes, I’m sure a spot of good clean tap water works just as well.
@Dj992Music
@Dj992Music Год назад
Distilled water is only very slightly acidic, you are correct, but it is nothing to worry about. However, tap water has minerals in it and so when your clean your TV the water evaporates but the minerals are left behind. This is what the streaks are made of. Distilled water has no minerals so it gives a streak-free finish.

A coworker in IT swears by 1 part white vinegar and 1 part distilled water. He uses it on phones, scanners and monitors. 👀
