How to Clean a Front Load Washing Machine 

This video is about 10 years to late, but thank god it’s here now

One piece of advice I received when I got a front loader was to dry the inside of the rubber seal with a cloth after you are done using your washing machine (which sometimes seams like never because I'm always doing laundry!). It is not foolproof, but I do believe it has helped prevent mold and smells from getting out of hand.

BE SURE TO READ YOUR MACHINE'S MANUAL before cleaning! I have a Bosch compact front loader and the manual says to never use chlorine bleach as it may damage the machine - my old Bosch machine even said using chlorine bleach would void the warranty. No big deal for me, I never use the stuff anywhere - but it would suck to have something go wrong and then be told I had no recourse because of a cleaner I used. If I have mold or mildew, I use an enzymatic cleaner. And I run the drum clean cycle with the OxiClean washing machine cleaner, which works great.

My seal is a little moldy. I've been putting off cleaning it, but after watching this, I'm ready! Thank you.

Make sure you always keep your washer door and detergent drawer open between washes

Here's a tip:put the detergent drawer in your dishwasher! It then gets cleaned in every crevice.

Leave door and draw open between washes to significantly reduce mould and bacteria. Also a powder detergent containing oxygen bleach will kill mould and bacteria both in the machine and the washing, washing powder also doesn't promote bacteria growth in the machine. There's an informative video titled the hygenic benefits of using taed.

The drain clean out at the bottom? And gooey filter?.....

What rubber gloves do you use? They look great, I’ve been trying some but find they aren’t waterproof for more than a day 😢
