0:47 don't use fluoride toothpaste. Text from an other article: Get a common white fluoride-based toothpaste (avoid gel-type toothpaste as these don’t work as well) Sooo what now ffs?
Absolutely no reason to use the toothpaste on the outside glass. Only have to remove the silicon from the inside of the mask glass. Has the outside of your goggles ever dogged up, no you say, because it’s completely impossible.
While cleaning the outside of the mask is irrelevant for fogging, this is arguably one of the most sophisticated pieces of glass on the market for diving. While cleaning the outside of a standard mask wouldn't necessarily be worth it, it is likely a good idea for any high end mask if you truly want to capture all of the light that its lens is designed to capture ....
silicone spreads. car paint guys hate it with a degree of loathing that is second to none. cleaning the outside removes ALL of the silicone. come on this is common sense. just stop and think about it.
Seriously? Clean the outside with toothpaste? That's what you get when you hire a "hand model" and give them a script without pointing out that the INSIDE is the lens to remove silicone from!
The idea of using toothpaste on the outside is NOT to prevent fogging, but just to clean the glass. Silicone CAN get on the outside during the manufacturing.
